The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

Everton would be a good move for Doak, assuming we are willing to sell. It has to be a fair price though, as other clubs have shown interest.

25M pounds probably sees the deal happen.

Everton isn’t a good move for anyone.

Poor kid!

If we are in the deal of selling Doak to Everton. It should be 10m transfer fee premium.

I might be overcome by end of season generosity. I don’t see Everton in relegation trouble any time soon. They are starting a new chapter in a new stadium. Doak is an exciting young player who could spark to life even more under a doting Scottish manager.

Still, fair enough. Horrible club. Horrible fans. Horrible team. Our last game with them - their famous 2-2 win at Goodison, underscored all that.

Exactly.I’d rather see him somewhere like Brighton or Brentford. Somewhere with a good young trainer and a positive football style.

I’d rather not sell Doak until we have our forward situation settled. Unless his contract is about to expire, he’s still valuable depth that may get called into action if we end up selling Chiesa, Diaz, Nunez, Jota. He’s young and he’s got loads of pace, which in and of itself makes him a valuable commodity.

Exactly. With Mo not getting any younger, and doubts over everyone except Cody, it would be silly to sell Doak now.

In my opinion, of course.

Agreed. We’ve hardly seen anything of him in the first team, but he’s done well on loan apparently. At least have a look in pre-season before destroying the poor lad’s soul by sending him to those ghouls.

I don’t see a problem selling Doak now, and would much prefer to have a deal done sooner rather than later.

He doesn’t appear to be in Arne’s plans and the club will have plans for the remaining forwards in the squad, and identified players they would like to bring in should they have the opportunity to do so.

Doak has done nothing to suggest hes good enough for a team at our level.

Liverpool has some emerging young talent for the forward berths, that are vying for squad inclusion… Doak, while widely known, is only one of many. If he is worth good money, temptation might have us cashing in.

Where did you here that Wirtz turned us down?

The last I heard last week was personal agreement was pretty much done and agreement between us and B.L mostly done, just a matter of finalizing minor structure of future bonus payments.

Was a report this morning about Bayer trying to up the price but that was only from Rory Jenning, so I take it with a bucketload of salt.

He saying that posing as City saying it (ie he turned City down)

That is the message reportedly coming from City

No sure I’m a fan of doing business with Everton. I know you shouldn’t care about letting your hand-me-downs go to your little brother but it’d twang a little bit if he goes on to do well there.

I also wonder how willing they’d be to sell to us. I can imagine a scenario where we’re trying to buy Branthwaite and they just flat out refuse to deal with us whilst accepting offers from the likes of City or Arsenal.

Give them fuck all.

As long as the price is decent i’m ok with it. I would much prefer to show we wont stand in the way of a move uneccessarily than fret the player may do well after his move.

He’s about their level. Take the money and run.

If we’re thinking about selling Doak then may aswell do a Chelsea and move the whole academy on (with the exception of Rio and Nyoni who have a chance still of breaking through).

Has anyone actually seen the requisite 10 full games of Doak?
