The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

Yes, played him up top in EA25 for 10 full games and his finishing was worse than Darwin.

Is it better than Nunez in the game though?

No. And who can argue with EA25? Certainly not Ryan Gravenberch (score of 79) and defaulting to starting on the bench vs Wataru Endo score of 80 and indefatigable.

According to Goal writer Richie Mills, Chelsea have agreed to personal terms with Frankfurt striker Ekitike. The price of the deal is estimated at 80m pounds.

If this is true, I expect Liverpool might explore Gyokeres or Goncalo Ramos as fallback options.

OR make the sale contingent on them holding discussions for a fair Branthwaite deal in the future.

Though the news I’m reading lately suggests the English CB Liverpool wants to buy might be Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi.

An agreement to agree. As the late* @Kopstar would say, thats unenforceable.

A couple of rumours:

Might be language barrier but I get the feeling it’s ā€œeither/orā€ when it comes to Wirtz and Cherki, not ā€œandā€?

That’s what some of the press are presenting it as. Maybe a tactic to pressurise Leverkusen?

Also looks like Lyon are pushing towards 35-40 million Euros for Cherki not the 20 million pounds Fabrizio was quoting going by recent reports.

Basically Slot went there to tell him ā€œSorry broā€.

So we are led to believe they know every twist and turn and every development as it happens but they didn’t know of a meeting that happened a week ago.

Clicks generate ££££ thats all they want.

It’s unlikely we want both players, but you never know. Either way, without the Wirtz deal being nailed down yet, exploring contingency plans seems prudent.

Wirtz is probably number one and we will probably close that deal. I hope so, as the more I’ve looked into the player the more excited it seems.

If Cherki is a fall back option - and I thought he was going to Man City? - I will be slightly disappointed, but I will remind myself of the second choice players who came here and were brilliant.

One other possibility is that we don’t have the money to buy Wirtz and a number 9. Diaz might be signing a new deal, and there are no bites for Darwin at a Saudi-level, as yet. So if we really want, say, Ekitike (assuming he hasn’t gone to Chelsea) maybe it is Ekitike and Cherki; rather than Wirtz, for the same sort of money?

Obviously we don’t know what is going on in detail, until it’s done. Just speculating, like everyone else!

I think we didnt expect Wirtz to join us. He was destined for Bayern and so we might have sought Cherki to join us. Then things took a ā€œUā€ turn.

This makes sense. But I am in the camp of Edwards knew, Hughes knew, Virg knew, Mo knew, and @Walshy07 claims he knew.
