The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

So we’re just ignoring the £25m we spent on Mamardashvili then?

Along with the costs of competing in those events and giving new contracts to Mo and Virgil…

While we’re at it, just for info, I think it’s been reported that the Mamardashvili fee will be accounted from this summer.

I doubt PSR rules allow for that given we owned his registration last year. If he’s on a five year 20% of his fee counts against last year’s spend whether we stumped up any actual cash or not.

It’s pointless looking at what we might be able to spend based simply on net spend per window anyway but the convenient omission of things like the deal for him, new contracts, agents fees and bonuses really grinds my gears.

We still made sales last year.

Maybe it was an obligation to buy, rather than a purchase last summer and loan at Valencia?

Maybe. I thought it was reported as a loan.

Just means we count another £25m spent this summer on top of everything else currently going on.

I think it’s more of a Keita move where the transfer date is effective from next season.

I’ve said elsewhere if Liverpool are struggling on PSR, the real finances of the 19 others must be dire.

We got 10m for Bobby Clark , 27m for Carvalho and 22m for VDB.

Safe to say that any transfer fee for Mamardashvili is well within what we’ve recieved for the above three even if the three had some clauses where a percentage was due to their previous clubs.

He never even made the bench, so does he really exist?

He does in the amortisation figures and that’s what really matters.

All that playing stuff is just a distraction from the real prize, “The PSR Transfer Window Club World Conference Trophy sponsored by Kyrgyzstan Tourism.”

Mrs. Slot?

Anyway, today’s BBC goss round-up …
Liverpool are considering a move for Napoli and Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen, 26, who spent last season on loan at Galatasaray. (Givemesport, external)

Bayer Leverkusen have made Liverpool’s £40m-rated English central defender Jarell Quansah, 22, a summer target. (Athletic - subscription required, external)

PSG will not allow France forward Bradley Barcola, 22, to leave this summer amid interest from Liverpool and Bayern Munich. (Foot Mercato - in French, external)

I’d have my doubts about Osimhen. Why couldn’t he stay at Napoli? Was it a disciplinary problem?

It was a totally ridiculous situation that probably couldn’t have happened in many places other than Napoli. They decided they needed to sell him as with 2 years left on his contract his value was at its peak. They made it clear they were open to offers and brought in his replacement, but then wouldn’t accept any of the offers they were getting and so the window closed with them still playing chicken. By that time the relationship between them was broken and with Turkey one of the few markets still open that could register new players meant he ended up there almost by default.

Teenager with a lot of minutes for them in the fizz. Versatile too, apparently played 5 positions last season. Any regular championship viewers got an opinion on the kid?
