We need rotation options, especially as Nunez is likely exiting, Jota is unreliable, Diaz has been linked with a move, and Salah has AFCON (he also only has two years left and might leave next summer).

Ah, I donāt agree. I think heās a quality winger. There are players Iād prefer over him - namely Isak, Nico Williams, Doue, and Rodrygo. But Isak and Doue are likely cost prohibitive Williams looks headed to Barca. I really wanted us to sign Kvaratskhelia last winter, but he chose PSG.
Ok we need players to fill in but what we need is hard working players not ones that just turn up in big matches.

If Bayern were to make an offer I donāt think itās inconceivable that Cody would be interested. BM are certainly capable of offering more in terms of salary and he might think he has more chance of regular first team starts there.

Still hypothetical, but if Gakpo went to Bayern, I would offer Diaz a two year extension and buy Malick Fofana. We would have a senior guy wrapped up until he is 32, and a younger player with a high ceiling to challenge.

Seen a few reports saying LFC want Isak - great player and finisher but does his injury record not worry anyone. Only 26 but misses quite a few games - we already have Jota for that.
Misses more games than nunez misses goals, that be my worry

The sad part is that we could have got him much earlier. I guess heās too expensive for us and too injury prone too.
Newcastle have had to manage his game time last season and those injuries are only going to pile up more and more.
Bayern often canāt compete with other top European clubs when it comes to wages. Gakpo has made steps here and was part of our winning formula offensive trio last season. Bayern objectivelly can be something for him to at least consider, but I also think heās going nowhere this summer. Pretty sure out of our forward line that the likes of obviously Salah, Gakpo and Jota are safe.
Donāt think Jota should be safe.
But the problem remains who would want to bid for him.

I could see Jota going if we get an offer for him and we sign a new first choice striker. Would let Diaz and Gakpo fight over being first choice on the left and leave Diaz as the backup striker as well.
