Who is this Clause? Seems like a player every club wants to buy back. Then why sell him in the first place?
Jonathan Clauss, French occasional international.
Santa
It should close up after 4-6 monthsā¦
As a kid who did the US path he started down, he really is living our dream. Beyond anything else, it is a great story.
Bloke is 28 now so much like Diaz, heās probably been told we wouldnāt be extending his deal at this age.
Surprised Real or Barca havenāt been tapping him up for the last 12 months with a view to getting him on a free next summer. Fair play to him for taking control of his future now rather than waiting for one of those two to sign him next summer.
Good luck to him. No matter what else he does, heāll always have that drag back in the San Siro. Heard AC Milan fans say heās the best defender theyāve ever seen play in that stadium.
Decent player but doubt weād keep him around when weād likely get a good fee for him.
Wish Nat well. He stood by us when he got better opportunities inspite of lack of game time. Always gave it all. Love him. Good luck lad. Hopefully you get your career back on track. We should have done this 3-4 years ago.
Might be interesting if it would allow us to move on from both of Robertson and Tsimikas over the next ~18 months. Much more doubtful whether Beck would be interested in that given the presence of Kerkez, though.
Itās much more of a question for the club whether heād be good enough for our first team.
As for him, Iām almost sure heād jump at the opportunity, even if heād be viewed as a backup on paper. Look at the teams heās played for in the last years, better or worse (picked or unpicked). Famalicao, Bolton, Dundee, Blackburn.
Heās got a year left if Iām not mistaken, so for me no doubt heād accept the opportunity and challenge. Being among the first 22 Liverpool players is not comparable to any level heās played for recently, it could also be of value for a future move.
But weāll see.
The only reason Iād think we would keep Beck is if both Morton and Elliot are gone and we need the homegrown player in order to sign an additional non homegrown.
Ā£3m for Nat apparently. Not sure if true. Excellent.
Excellent? We rejected an offer for him worth more than twice that, some time ago if I recall correctly.
This isnāt one of our finest dealings.
I think it is. The guy did his best when needed. He isnāt the standard required, but letting him leave cut price is a gesture towards gratitude.
In the world of spending over £100 m on a player, holding out for an extra £3m for a good servant would be crass.
Given we are where we are itās a good deal. Could have should have years ago.
Ā£3m in the bank. Wages off the book.
Might as well be someone we can buy for the academy with that amount
We got an offer of 7 mil. for him and we demanded 10.
Maybe.
Thatās whatās reported, but it may not have suited the club or player at that point.
Annywayā¦we differ on the issue.
I think he did all expected of him when needed. To me, that is enough. Best of luck to him.
