We weren’t buying a prospect when we bought Nunez.
We bought someone who should’ve come in to be one of the key players.

40M is a pipe dream given the state of the striker market. It’ll be 70, maybe inclusive of add-ons, but the days of getting even a one-good-season prospect for less than 60M are over.
you are right look at Bayern trying to buy the 21 year old striker Woltemade for 50M euros but they were quoted 100M by his club. they are having the same row as the one for the transfer of Wirtz.
If Elliott ends up at Dortmund he will be turn into a star. Young players with upside tend to develop really well over there.
He’s already a star!
A bright North Star
He’s already stated he doesn’t want to move to Germany.
I think he has been given bad advice, imo a move abroad will help him with the major uefa competitions. What’s his alternative in the PL, none of the regular top 4-5 teams need him. If he wants to be a consistent starter, he needs to go to Spain or Germany.
Or did he state he doesn’t want to go to Bayer 04 Leverkusen, which is most likely a good decision with all the major exits.
With all this emotion. No Jota. I want to keep Nunez.
Don’t think Darwin or Arne really wants him to stay . We need changes there and I do wonder if the club will feel their hand is forced and pay up to buy Ekitike
its business. shouldnt stop the club from functioning
Whilst that is true, I did find the reports that Barcelona were still sniffing around Diaz to be in incredibly bad taste.
We’ve already told them no and now we’ve just suffered a huge tragedy.
Go fuck off and never come back (barca, not you).
that’s Barca for you…
fuckers think the world spins around them
Or Isak?
No. Nunez must go. he doesn’t fit and he’s really not good enough.
OK. I’ll be the first to say that Diogo’s tragic death might result in Harvey staying. I doubt if it would really, as he probably would still not get the amount of game time that he wants and needs. But I can imagine the idea being put to him by Slot.
Thank you, i had that very same thought this morning.
I don’t see the connection. Very different players in a different position.
If Harvey stays , it will be because we haven’t found a suitable club(that Harvey wants to join) willing to pay what it takes to get the transfer done.
And in such a situation, I assume that Slot will be giving Harvey some time on the pitch this season (not enough but as a backup to Wirtz). And then we revisit the transfer market in January to see if there’s a potential deal that can be done then.
There’s no link to Jota’s demise and Elliot potentially staying at Liverpool. Different circumstances.
Yes, you’re right. It’s just that I can envisage Harvey being a kind Kevin Keegan type of player playing off a target man like Isak or Ekitike.
But you’re right. It almost certainly won’t happen. With Wirtz as CAM, as much as I would like there to be one, there’s no place for Harvey.
There is a point that will come very soon where the unpleasant transition will kick in from remembering Jota as a person and colleague/friend to thinking out how to move forward without him as a footballer. It is not out of the question that in this market they decide Wirtz is a better fit for that than anyone we can bring in leaving a hole big enough that Harvey could then fill.
I think there were real questions about all this last week and they have become harder to answer now.
