I said he may be keen but that doesn’t mean he will kick up a fuss what is giving you any notion hes doing this. He returned to preseason training no issues.
A contract we don’t seem that keen on giving him.
And the bid from Bayern isn’t speculation. That doesn’t come without some encouragement from somewhere.
He may not be kicking up a fuss just yet but all the Barca chat and Bayern bid suggests he’s either trying to push for an improved deal here, which we don’t seem keen to offer him, or that he knows now is the time to get maximum value on a contract elsewhere.
Maybe it all just amounts to nothing but if we’re not going to offer him a deal and clubs are encouraged enough to be bidding £60m for him it suggests to me he’s more than just open to exploring his options.
I’m fully aware my reading of things could be completely wrong and time will tell. Just wouldn’t surprise me at all if this is the end of the matter.
You seem to be manufacturing a problem which has no signs of been an issue. Yes he may be touting himself but its not effecting his work here.
No signs?
The batting of eyelashes at Barca, the bid from Bayern, no sign of a new contract offer from us.
You’d have to be blind or wilfully ignorant of them to not see signs of some unrest there.
Media driven signs did Diaz report for preseason training yes he did. He can feel anyway he wants as long as it doesn’t effect his role here and it looks like it isnt.
Time will tell and hopefully you’re right but I just don’t see us telling Bayern he’s not for sale as being the definitive end of this.
Diaz clearly wants to leave. The issue is going to be whether or not he feels strongly enough about it that it brings Slot to the conclusion that a parting of ways is best.
Maybe he stays, knuckles down, and has another productive season. We would all be happy with that.
Or maybe a price point is triggered, and Slot feels that he will sell and reinvest, especially as the player is unsettled/disgruntled with his lot, especially in the contract side.
I’m chilled, as we either keep a good player, or sell and reinvest. The one closest to the situation - Slot - can evaluate and we will see what’s what soon enough.
Diaz clearly wants to get the best deal possible for his next contract. Everything else is speculation.
I’m tired of posting the same thing over again, so I’m not going to engage on this topic unless something changes.
Fair enough. This most clearly describes the situation.
Whether it means he stays on current terms, gets a new deal, or leaves… we will see.
Offerings from bbc rumours, most notable for the aptly named source of the Darwin rumour.

Where’s Bayernspace when you need him?

Isn’t Al Hilal owned by same folks who owns majority of Newcastle? Is this a PSR loophole?
I think PSR is more hole than loop. But Isak has to agree to it. He isn’t a piece of livestock that they can order around.
I read that they want to buy him and then loan him back. That way they could pay him more, etc.
Maybe this is just nonsense.
There is absolutely no way that would be allowed.
Yeah, football authorities would definitely hold Saudis strictly to the rules
The football authorities will be invited to the embassy for a nice cup of tea and then the discussions can begin.
Hopefully the regulations are tight enough to stop funny business with moving players around. I could see a move to Al Hilal so he can get paid a ridiculous amount, and then they could loan him back to Newcastle so he can play in the Prem and the CL. Isak gets his dough, and Newcastle have the player at their disposal while they get a large boost to their PSR.
Surely there are watertight rules against that sort of thing, if indeed it happens?
