The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

Fofana would.be the cheaper option.

Not saying he would be bad. But Rodrygo is an established player in a top team.

Rodrygo is a not yet established player who cannot get much of a look in at a top team, hence him not really being established and why he’s seemingly available.

It sounds like a circus

Fofana wouldn’t even get into that real Madrid team as it stands now. So there.

Are they expectant of a lot of cash from Chiesa…I wouldn’t expect it.

Thats not correct. He was a starter for Carlo

Wiki have him playing 270 (172 league)games in 6 years for them

ā€œA starterā€ā€¦someone who only plays when more valued players are unavailable and is frustrated enough about his role player status that he and the club are both open to him leaving.

He started a majority of their games the last three seasons, including in the Champions League. That’s despite the fact that he’s been blocked from his preferred position by two of the top 5 forwards in world football - Vicinius and MbappĆ©. He’s forced to play as a RW when he prefers to play as a LW or centrally.

I don’t think the club see them as the same transfer targets.

Rodrygo would be to replace Diaz. A starter who can contribute a lot (Rodrygo and Diaz currently probably at similar levels of ability, but Diaz at his peak and Rodrygo with room to develop)

Fofana would be a Chiesa replacement.

If Diaz goes, I don’t think we go after Fofana. Likewise if Chiesa goes I don’t think we go after Rodrygo. One is a target as a starter, and the other is a target as a backup/squad player.

Only because Vini Jr is in his position. Rodrygo can also play up front which we’ll need if replacing Diaz. Played there in the CL final.

I’d prefer to keep Diaz because of all the churn but Rodrygo would be another exciting signing. Would hate to see him at another PL club

I don’t think we want to keep Diaz against his wishes and risk him unsettling the dressing room. If he’s decided he wants to move on then we should cash in. 60+ million quid would be a great return for him, if we can also get 50 or so for Nunez, then that’ll be great business.

Bring in Rodrygo and that gives us a fantastic like-for-like replacement and we maintain our top-drawer forward line.

There is no indication hes unsettling the rest of the team if there was he wouldn’t have gone to Hong Kong so im not sure why people keep mentioning it.

Agreed. It just feels like people need the drama.

Be his dad who is unsettled thankfully he doesn’t play for us.

I said it’s a risk if we keep him against his wishes. No need to get so butthurt over idle speculation on the internet. It’s not that deep.

Idle speculation its not even that its shit been made up so don’t get upset when you called out for the bollocks.

What the fuck are you on about? I was making the speculation. It’s not bollocks that he wants away. It’s been reported on by reliable journos including Ornstein. If a player wants to leave the club and we won’t let him go, then it stands to reason that the player would be unhappy, and then it also stands to reason that said unhappy player could end up unsettling the locker room.

ā€œCalled out for the bollocksā€ is hilarious. Have a day off mate.

We’re nervous cause we want to sign players we’ve never seen play.

It’s quite possibly his dad is unhappy at the lack of money.

If I’m honest he shouldn’t be downhearted by the state of the club or his playing time. Which means it’s all about cash.
