The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

great to see you re insert this joke, its quite hard to get something like this up and running again, virtually introducing it via the back door, i know the site admin doesnt like the same pun being played over and over, but it would be a bit stiff if the mods pulled you off mod duties over it

Looks like we have cooled our interest in Hato.

I honestly can’t remember a single transfer window with so many additions. We must be seriously wanting to compete in just about any competition possible.
.
Other than CB we have updated every other position. I fail to see why DĆaz and Konate would swap this team for someone else.

…now, about a CB…

Hato is a Good player, with a slight question mark over his size for the Prem at cb. If we sign Guehi at least he is proven. Can’t sign them all!

They really, really miss Trent.

I’d forgotten they had signed him so i’m not suret. The rumours do seem to have quietened down on that front though.

I’m wondering whether they would have invested like this after the 2020 championship if it hadn’t been for the pandemic.

TBH, I am a bit worried that it is too much now, but we seem to be seeing upgrades rather than replacements. Should be an interesting season.

From what I’ve read, he’s already earning something like €10m per year at RM. No ways LFC are paying that kind of money to one player.

I just couldn’t see Klopp making wholesale changes to a squad like this.

In saying that it’s definitely Slots year. Last year looked like he was assessing the squad and now it looks like a re-build.
.
I imagine this year there will be some pressure on Slot in the media world

A lot of these changes are forced. Trent , Diaz , Nunez , A LB , the CF replacement for Jota.

We’ve been forced into these changes. If Klopp were here , he probably would have had to make these changes too.

That’s about Ā£166k per week. Why would we not pay that? Salah on Ā£20m per year

It’s actually being reported as 10m net, which given the tax rate in the UK equates to more than Ā£240k pw.

Which, while not completely obscene, is still a lot for a new signing yet to prove himself for us.

Is that taking into account the very helpful ā€œBeckham lawā€? Because he may be coming to the end of that being applicable - it counts for the first year, and following 5 years. So he may might be about to start paying more tax if he stays in Spain. Though who am I kidding? There will likely be other ways and means to pay less tax for those who can afford it. :frowning:

Diaz and Nunez aren’t forced.

Diaz by wanting to leave does make it a forced transfer.

And Nunez’s transfer out is over due.
