As I said Iām on board with literally most of what we do but I just donāt think he is that good and all I see of him is buying fouls which frankly we will never get a benefit out of.
Whole idea leaves me cold. Where Wirtz Iām really hot for (and no this isnāt any attraction). Just when I see a player I know is special and he is.

Yeah, it would be impossible to want him to do well. Iād be wanting us to win, but him to be subbed.

Everton in for Malick Fofana who weāve been linked to a few times this summer.
Itās not impossible that we get Isak, a CB and another forward, but maybe Ngumoha gets a few more appearances this season. Heās very young at 16-17, but if he pushes and merits it, sometimes you canāt ignore it. Examples like Yamal are radical and incredibly rare, but the kid looks promising and he seems like he has progressed from last season.

Certainly donāt want us to be in a situation where we are short at CB and we start pulling back people like Gravenberch to CB. Because that leads to opening up more holes in deep midfield, where we donāt have a lot of quality options. Not to mention total emergency options at CB like Robbo or Endo. Justā¦ no. We will try to defend the title and win everything there is to win. We have to reinforce at CB.

Itās not 45 minutes of pre-season. It is 3 weeks of the most physically grueling part of the season. The games are trivialities in comparison. Yes itās a set back a reminder that relying on Gomez is something beyond a risk, but letās at least characterize properly where the set back has come from.
