The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

We have 5 cbs on the books now last time we had 3 the situation is comparable at all.

Agreeā€¦but not bringing in another is crazy

Iā€™d rather play Chambers in CB (assuming we arenā€™t loaning him out) than play Nat Phillips. No disrespect to the guy, he played as well as anyone with his limited game could. Itā€™s not his fault that heā€™s not good enough for liverpool even though heā€™s better at this point than slabby maguire.

3 are injury prone and cant play more than 2 games on the bounce without breaking down. So nothings changed there
1 suspended with extra charge hanging over him.

Endo can play CB and Bajcetic played as CB for the liverpool youth teams. Would definitely have loved another CB coming in , but this situation isnā€™t as bad as before. Thereā€™s always a chance that we can get a better deal come January.

As far as I am aware, the club are still trying for someone today too.

CM also has a lot more energy than it did have.

You donā€™t sign a player just to cover a single game. We definitely need to sign at least one CB but we are restricted in how many non-homegrown players we can have and we need to look at a long term signing. I wouldnā€™t be surprised if we sign someone in January.

After signing Gravenberch, it does make you wonder why weā€™ve bothered with Endo.

The squad would look better had that been a defensive player weā€™d signed.

I donā€™t think we can get a deal done today for a CB. Infact , at this point. Iā€™d prefer if itā€™s not a permanent deal. Any CB who we suddenly pull their name out of the hat is going to be a panic buy. Liverpool donā€™t do well w.r.t panic buys.

Heā€™s someone who can play in that area even though he isnā€™t a #6. His tackling / blocking numbers are pretty good. As is his passing. Klopp is looking for people who can play across multiple positions. Looks like a Giniesque role we have in mind for him.

Now reports claim that a record-breaking offer worth ā‚¬200m (Ā£171m) has been lodged, with Liverpool feeling they have no option but to accept the bid.

In addition, Saudi paper Okaz, claim Salahā€™s transfer from Liverpool to Al-Ittihad has now been agreed.

They claim the player has already touched down in Jeddah to complete the formalities of the deal and it is now just a matter of time before the switch is finalised.

Honestly its so far fetched you have to keep reading

Let them add another 300m on top of that for a sale next season. Salah is the one these arabs want.

I agree. A good centre back would make this a 9/10 window for me.

Iā€™m disappointed we havenā€™t got a CB, regardless of Phillips staying or going.

An alternative perspective would be to say that we are pleased that the academy is producing youngsters for the first team squad, as Jurgen and his coaching staff clearly have faith in Quansah.

Well yes. But young players, and perhaps centre backs more than any other outfield position, need to be eased into the senior side. Not dropped in because injuries and suspensions are stacking up.

Itā€™s going go back down to 100m again by the end of the day

Letā€™s see if Gravenberch really is the last addition. If he is, it can only be assumed that the coaching staff is counting on Quansah to make a meaningful contribution, which is absolutely fine since he isnā€™t that young at 20 and seems to be highly regarded.

He deserves a chance, hopefully heā€™ll make the most of it.

We still have 5 though for 2 postions

Even including Quansah it looks light at the back.
