The only transfer related thing we should be focused on right now is appointing a permanent Sporting Director or DoF and rebuilding that analytics and recruitment team.
No point having £200m with no way to spend it and a disjointed team of people to spend it.
When the time does come for Mo to go, which should be no sooner than June 2024, we want his replacement lined up and a deal in place already.
i cant actually believe im typing these words but im actually OK with it if the price is at 200 ish.
amazing player, amazing human and amazing memories…but this new squad has a vibe about it im really keen on…i know if he leaves the quality is lowered…but sometimes…
sometimes things happen that dont make logical sense but help on a different level…
i realise this puts me firmly in the ‘FSG cant win bracket’
somebody earlier said it indicates a lack of ambition and obviously that would affect the players…the flip side of that is…its would also be a massive boost to the existing lads…‘hes a legend, but i trust you guys completely without him’
I had assumed that his appointment would be related to doing business in Germany. Three of our players were signed from the Bundesliga and at least 2 must have been long term targets.
There’s no way of knowing if there were others that failed to come to fruition.
12 month contract with the first review after 3 months. If thats what you are saying.
I think he should leave primarily because no club should hand over so much of power to the manager even if the manager is Klopp.
Klopp worked best when he had an empowered DOF like Edwards. Two equals bouncing ideas makes for better decision making rather than having Schmadtke who’s clearly a Klopp reco
They need to put money where mouth is.
The £150m wasnt £150m. It was £100m and £50m of add ons that according to someone on radio was £35m of near impossible targets.
If they offer £200m cash then the club have a difficult call to make.
20 deals or 20 players? He obviously knows 20 players and 20 deals wouldn’t make any sense since the profile of club, structure of the deal, money involved etc are all completely different from his previous clubs.
I can’t be the only one who’s wondering why it’s Schmadtke’s job to bring names with him? Surely it’s a matter of running the process we already have in place here, otherwise what’s the point of having the process?
