The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

Why on earth would we sell him now when we have no chance to get a replacement? No amount of money would help us when we can’t spend it.

1 billion USD might help to convince me otherwise.

maybe FSG are hoping for this,

and plan to exploit it to the max to get as much as they can for him.

This is exactly why I think FSG will continue to reject.

Problem is they tell everyone in the media what and why they want him.

Doesn’t help in the window see Man United.

Evidently they must run around the training facility half naked it can only explain what Salah had on when greeting Endo.

Wait…I mean…Nationalist!

I must get paid a fortune if Drivel is the standard

I doubt we would ever sell as supporters but as a business some price is impossible to walk away from.

If they actually bid £200m, that’s another stadium upgrade. We’d be insane to not take the oil money.

£200m now is not worth more to us than £100m next summer

They’re counting on FSG being turned by the money being offered. And I suspect they waited until this late in the window because they don’t want Liverpool to be able to buy reinforcements because it’ll help Newcastle in their run for Top 4.

The way Newcastle are playing, the Saudi league will need to buy 2 or 3 of the best players from every EPL team to help Newcastle into a top 4 finish

2-5billion would be better!

Wish the Saudis would fuck off and stay fucked off till next summer. Why the hell would we sell Mo now and we can’t replace him with similar class till Jan.
Regardless of what kind of silly money the pony up with now we lose out, unless they can swing Mbappe somehow.

Oh that’s going go down amazing with the fan base also it’s almost impossible to go over what is currently the capacity. You’ll have a hell of a lot of planning permission to get the council to agree to including going over a road.

This is the kernel of the issue.
Salah is still in the top 4 or 5 players in the world.
Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar are down the rankings and easy retirement plans for rich leagues.

Salah is 20 plus goals every season he has been here, and you wouldn’t bet against the same this season.
We have no such guarantee with our 4 other strikers or Ben Doak.
Selling now is tantamount to non ambition for the season.
I think he will go next summer with everyones blessing, and the work on a replacement will be complete.

Totally agree. Could cause real division at the club also. Can see why businessmen would be tempted by ridiculous offer, but there’s no way Klopp or Mo’s teammates would want to lose him

From a business perspective, selling now would seriously jeopardise our chances of returning to the CL which could cause long term damage to their investment. It could cause a loss of morale and maybe even hasten Klopp’s departure. It would damage ‘the brand’ in a way that could be irretrievable. We would be seen as a Saudi feeder club.
All that for a difference of 50m? It doesn’t make sense.

If we rejected 150m, no reason I see us accepting 200m at this point of time. 50m more now does not do anything for us. Only if Mo agitates for a move with that happen. Don’t be surprised if there is a compromise for a move in Jan if 200m or more remains on the table.
