The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

Eh?

Ok GIF

Salahā€™s side is the area we need to consider, what Iā€™ve seen of Florian Wirtz suggests to me someone who could potentially step into that role.

But it all depends on what we do.

I donā€™t see Wirtz being or developing for that role.

Not convinced on the Nico Williams rumours.

  1. He is a more of a fullback than a winger.
  2. We sold him to Forrest as we didnā€™t believe he would develope into a first team regular for us.
  3. Iā€™m just talking a load of bollocks
  4. His time at Forrest has suggested we were right to sell him. He is an ok P/L standard player but not at the level for a team wanting to challange for the league and Champions League

Nico Williams plays for Bilbao.
Neco Williams plays for Forest.

  1. is the correct answer. :joy:

I always thought they were both Nico.

But my point still stands, I am just talking a load of bollocks

Iā€™m convinced Mo is staying for another 4-5 years, so we can start planning his replacement in 2027 :+1:

Doak will be 20 by then

I thought we sold him because he wanted to leave for regular first team football. The club seemed happy enough to have him as a back-up.

But if they felt he had the room to develope into a genuine first team regular they would have either done more to keep him, or had a buy back option, which I donā€™t believe they included

Itā€™s rare to include buyback clauses, and when you do the money you receive upfront is likely to be less. Itā€™s also something the other club has to agree to. The fact that we buy back so few players (or that almost all clubs do) make including a buy back less significant.

Happy having him as a backup doesnā€™t mean that he is good enough to go out and buy. Keeping him allows us to focus on other areas of more importance to the team.

Iā€™m going off four matches to be fair and in every game he seemed to be cutting in from the right hence.

Lots of talk of Andre Trindade signing for us in jan.

Would be great if heā€™s a similar type to Mac Allister but with a bit more pace/physicality. Two proper options for the ā€˜6ā€™ who can rotate, but also play at ā€˜8ā€™ if needed.

Would make the midfield rebuild pretty much complete and a 10/10.

Only seen a few YouTube clips, but he looks like a Mascherano type.

As a Masche fan-boy, AndrƩ is a lot more versatile+dynamic than Masche.

I read his latest quotes (allegedly) about the interest from our club but Iā€™m not sure if they were taken out of contest because I couldnā€™t find the original source and I donā€™t speak Portuguese anyway. The gist of it is that he dreams to play for such a big club but that he just couldnā€™t turn his back on his current club in the middle of season and during strong Copa Libertadores campaign.

I bet that kind of attitude is just the music to Kloppā€™s ears. I think thereā€™s a lot of smoke in this story and January is getting near. I also think we need another no. 6, preferrably one that offers just a bit more energy than Mac Allister, and who is more of a no. 6 than no. 8 - but thatā€™s just me given that we seem to have plenty of no. 8s at the moment.

If he excels in the 6 role, bring it on. Andre in January would be lovely.

I like the current midfield but a slight criticism is that the balance isnā€™t fully there yet, as it is stocked with 8ā€™s and a redeployed MacAllister gets the nod as the 6.

I get it, that when they are all doing their job, the system is the key, and we donā€™t get exposed. Indeed, our goals conceded so far is pretty good, especially with all the defensive disruptions we have had.

Anyway, if we think heā€™s good enough and we signed Andre, bring it on!

There might be a slight question mark over numbers at that point, as there will be a lot of quality not seeing too much action, and thatā€™s even taking Thiago out of the equation as he is likely in his last season here.

Saw that argument being made about the front line. But theyā€™re all seeing plenty of action and all chipping in with goals

Sadly his injuries have done that already
