I just remember him always checking back to cross with his right foot.
He was solid and reliable. I never had issues with him as a sub option. Itās like Gomez Iāve never had issues with him across the back, if he wasnāt injured a lot he would be a quality option.
My thoughts on Rogers exactly. He is an attacking midfielder, and we are well stocked. Secondarily he can play on the wing, so arguably that versatility, plus being homegrown and a good age, might have our attention?
Iāve seen him plenty of times, we all have, and while he is definitely a good player, Iām not sure if he is good enough for Liverpool. And who knows what sort of price Villa would want? Probably 70-80M pounds.
I wonder if Rogers has it in him to play as a central striker? And we are looking at that as a possibility, should the Isak deal fall through? And then if we do sign Isak in January, Rogers would move position?
Thatās a lot of messing about to try to see how it might happen, so it probably wonāt!
I am very much on board the Olise train though. If it is true, that he has a release clause next summer, we should be all over that as a long term Salah replacement.
You edited your post because you were shown to be incorrect in what you posted, rather than own up to being wrong.
You, as I have previously posted/said are a WUM.
Didnāt he set a record of most goal involvement/assists in the ECL from a full back that season?
Regarding the 1st team squad size and composition, I have felt we are ideally short maybe 1 centre back, due to Joeās injury susceptibility and one body in the forward line.
Unlike others I donāt think either is insurmountable, we have just bought Leoni and I also feel, Grav or Endo can play a CB role, not ideal but players squads have to be adaptable.
The forward line depends on whether Arne trusts young Rio especially if Cody tires or becomes injured. However, he may now have more faith in Chiesa and he has already said that Wirtz or Ekitike could play out left.
On the other side when Mo goes to Afcon my feeling is that he will use Frimmy there, but the issue with that is our other RB cover, Conor and Joe, neither are proving to be reliable on the injury front.
Who I would like us to sign?
I really feel Guehi is a must, he is a player that like Joe could play anywhere along the back line but unlike him is available nearly all the time. Isak I still feel is a luxury signing, brilliant player, but I feel 150m is too much, not my money though. Therefore a player that is versatile like Rodrygo may be an option, although he is untested in the PL and may lack the physicality to play CF.
In the end I aināt too fussed if we get these players, because we will adapt and hopefully that will lead to trophies.
But in the end I will still be sat here supporting our team, expecting us to beat everyone and playing brilliant footy along the way.
We have 4 CB options + Endo. I think we are ok at CB to be honest. A 5th CB would mean that a lot of people are unlikely to play much.
The RB situation is just awkward now but I donāt think it will be a problem if we get through the next few weeks.
Up front. Well, letās see what options there are that seriously improve us. A versatile option like Rodrygo fits us better, in my opinion than an Isak.
Its you who is wrong but unfortunately you just canāt admit it.
I still want Guehi, he covers wveryone but maybe Leoni is also that guy, but the PL is a different beast to the Serie A.
Agreed on wanting amore versatile forward but Isak is proven.
When did English clubs buy in dollars.
Unfortunately, I am in NZ and the default keyboard is US and I mostly deal in dollars, I will change it to make you happy.
Thatās a very optimistic viewpoint.
We have two top CBs, one teenager and one guy who has a very patchy fitness record.
We clearly need more, especially as Konate is looking likely to leave at the end of the season.
Its going to take more than changing dollars to poundsā¦
Love it lol
I donāt entirely agree here with regard to CBs. The new lad is very young/raw, so likely wonāt be trusted to start in the PL/CL. Gomez is oft-injured, and aside from that we need quality cover for cups as well. The fact is we should be looking at playing 60+ matches this season if weāre to be competing on all fronts, going into the season with just 2 reliable senior CB options is a bit mad. Iām fine with the squad being a bit leaner than last season, but I think we need a PL-experienced CB and another forward and we should be okay. If Slot wants to fuck the League Cup off and play full kids, then Iām fine with that. Not super arsed about the FA cup either, but would love to see us win a treble if we can. Chiesa and Rio should see plenty of time in those comps, maybe a lad like Danns? Not sure there. Point is, Weāre going into what should be a very intense season with just Gakpo/Ekitike/Salah/Chiesa is senior forward options. Playing guys like Wirtz or Szob out of position is not something we should be relying on.
If we brought Leoni in (rather than loaning him back), we should be counting him as a backup option and somebody who should get some game time.
As a regular for Parma, he can be a backup here (I donāt care what age he is⦠this is about whether he is ready). We didnāt spend that money and jettison Quansah to acquire a young player who isnāt expected to be able to play much or cope as a backup.
We bought him for now and the future⦠not to waste his talents on the bench and stunt his development.
Quansah last season played 489 PL minutes. The season before⦠only 1189 PL minutes in a season where many of the others were injured. This isnāt enough minutes to keep a young CB happy yet alone splitting that with another senior CB.
Okay I think Iām done with this.
