That looks like a wind up to be honest. Would they really have gone after him without doing any scouting?
The problem with Trent, as we know very well, is that he’s a player with a unique skillset, and as such, you have to design your team and tactics around that. I always doubted that RM would be prepared to do that.

In Rory Smith’s interview, Indy has outed himself as a Liverpool fan - he’s definitely on a wind-up here and Spanish media have picked up on that. :joy:

Uhm, I don’t think they did any scouting when they signed Woodgate and Gravesen… so they probably did the same for TAA.

You can rest assured that if/when they try and sell they’ll be expecting to book 50+m profit. I said it 9 months ago but it will be Lil Mickey Owen all over again. Probably end up at Newcastle and all.

It was well said above about Trent’s skillset. There’s a sense in which a few adjustments need to be made around him to get the best out of him, and whether or not Real Madrid are going to be willing to do that is a valid talking point that is being answered with Carvajal going back into the side.

In all likelihood Trent was in the pipeline for them long before Alonso took over. Clearly Alonso has now had a look at him up close and decided to give Carvajal the nod. It doesn’t mean Trent won’t come again and get to grips with what they want, but it’s a slow start for him.

From Real Madrid’s perspective he is a mid ranking player at best, and if they flip him and turn their 8-10M outlay into a 50M profit, they will be happy enough. Alternately, if he gives them what they want and need on the pitch, they will be very happy with that too, but the early signs don’t look good.

He made his choice, I won’t laugh or take the piss. However hope Konate takes note.

Unlike Trent, Ibou doesn’t have “a set of special skills”.

He won’t ever see the green of the pitch.

Besides, Güler has practically all the passing range they need from midfield so Trent’s skills aren’t really needed. What the require is defensive solidity on the right.

That really is a wind up. Remember how they always used to target his side when they played us?
Mind you, it was that or Robbo/Virg.

Can’t imagine that even a bunch of spoilt brats like RM would give up on him so easily.

I do love how all these clubs are scared of random nobodies on the net.

Bayernspace isn’t a nobody! He’s the bloke/woman/bot who broke the Wirtz story.
Don’t you know your ITK history MH?

I know but ….

They didn’t do any due diligence as regards his suitability for RM because they got him almost for free as the £10M we got was essentially funded by the FIFA club WC.

I remember a pre-injury Leroy Sané would almost always beat him.
