Reds want Guehi but face competition and a high asking price
Liverpool are interested in signing Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi according to Football Insider, but face competition from the likes of Newcastle, Arsenal and Tottenham.
Having missed just one of Palaceās Premier League fixtures last term, Guehiās form has earned him recognition on the international stage, with the 22-year-old currently boasting 4 England caps to his name.
Therefore, itās little surprise that interest is supposedly emerging from Premier League heavyweights. However, it is claimed the Eagles are set to ask for bids in excess of Ā£60million in order to sanction an exit for the impressive defender.
The article, also, states that believed Palaceās asking price could make a deal too hard to do ā even for the Premier Leagueās elite clubs.
Decent player, not sure heās the best available (well, Iām pretty sure heās not).
The type of defender who might do well as a left centre back in a 3, or a different kind of left back. Not a player Klopp would target as a centre back in a standard back 4.
Perhaps heād suit this new system fairly well.
Inacio seems to be emerging as the one to go for.
Guehi is a decent player, but the price is silly if 60M is true.
Colwill has a higher ceiling but he is only just starting. It seems Chelsea wonāt play ball, but until that door is closed, we should keep exploring.
Van de Ven is fast, which we all like, but how good of a player is he? Going to Spurs now, I think.
So all this is leading me to think Inacio might be the one, especially with the price more reasonable than the money Prem clubs seem to want. That is part of the problem with the riches in the Prem. Unless thereās a clause like MacAllister, getting a good deal seems hard to come by, as all clubs have money, relatively speaking, so they can resist offers.
Inacio is a good footballer and will hopefully do well here.
I would like Lavia in addition, if possible, to boost the u21/home grown ranks, and also give us some athleticism in the defensive midfield.
Regardless of the truth of this link, it would be sensible to bring Moās replacement in sooner rather than later, especially if it is a young player. They can learn from a world class operator at Liverpool, and it also gives us a chance to not get rinsed on the fee.
Imagine if Mo decides to leave for Saudi Arabia for a large fee. If we then tried to go shopping with the money, the prices quoted would be ridiculous.
Yes they quoted that figure to PSG and they walked away laughing at them
Now he is a real talent but our record trying to prize players from Lyon is not good AULAS always sends us packing.now that lad is more than worth Ā£60M
Just like to remind you of the following comment:
Does anyone really, truly, honestly, genuinely, sincerely, hand on heart believe this is a deal we can do? Itās a pipe dream and Iām sorry for anyone who canāt see that.
Was only funny the first 10 times.
I replied to him, not you. Ignore it if you donāt like it.
Aulas is no longer there and they are skint and need to sell to raise funds. Reports of needing to generate upwards of ā¬100m this summer.
Not that Iām saying that means weāre interested but dealings with Lyon may not be as challenging as they once were.
Double deal for him and Lukeba would be nice.
Yeah, not quite as bad as Gvardiol or van de Ven but still far away from ideal. Heās a good player though but thatās a real sticking point.
Would be surprised if we are really targetting him.
Well itās from football insider
Is there anyone out there who can head the ball?
Fellaini :0)
Steven Caulker?
