The Unreliable Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 4)

Get Millie over on a loan deal!

We’re being linked with Sunderland’s goalie Robin Roefs. He’s Dutch, so natch.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Alisson were to choose to move on this summer. With Mo and Robbo almost certainly leaving and maybe Virg too, he might think that his time with us has come to an end.

Yeah well, let’s not forget that we’re in the unreliable thread.

Maybe it wouldn’t have much to do with Alisson for now, as there are a few things we can do with goalkeepers and signing them for the future.

Pearce said a few months ago that the club is expected to activate Ali’s contract until 2027.

We’ll have to wait and see but I don’t think Virgil is going anywhere this summer.

I got that impression from the Slot Press Conference this morning.

Yes I hope they extend his contract by another 2 years, all the previous towering CHs have played until their 40s, this will give time for all the young CHs we have just bought to be schooled in the art of defending Virgil style.

Remember reading a piece from a Sunderland fan, may have been before their game against us and they were saying that he was brilliant for them and very highly rated.

Not a current rumour or anything, but interesting movement on a player we’ve been mentioned with a few years ago. CB Perr Schuurs (26) has left Torino by mutual consent and is now a free agent.

Coming off major knee injury, and then a setback. Don’t think he’s played a minute in the past couple years.

Sounds like he’d fit in well then

And in other news, Geertruida is still sitting nicely behind a few players at Sunderland.

This is laughable. I think we’d be lucky to get one tenth of what this rumour claims we are asking for Chiesa.

Liverpool are open to allowing Italy forward Federico Chiesa to leave and want about 25-30m euros (Ā£21.7m-Ā£26m) for the 28-year-old, with Juventus, Napoli and Roma possible destinations. (Caughtoffside)

As has been said elsewhere, Quansah coming back will not happen so long as Slot is the manager / first team coach. Slot wouldn’t play him and if I were Quansah I would not want to play in a Slot team.

Liverpool could be about to re-sign 23-year-old England centre-back Jarell Quansah from Bayer Leverkusen next year. (Football Insider)

Agree,Quansah would be nuts to come back while Slot is coach,he knows better than most the way Slot seems to operate.

Or maybe the situation is much more amicable that we’ve assumed?

Two of the worst rumour pages out there. It’s not even worth treating them as gospel.

It sounds like they didn’t want him playing against them tomorrow?

That doesn’t sound like a good enough argument.

They probably wanted to keep him for extra depth, even if he’s still not playing and 1-2 players are ahead of him in his main position. Though he comes off the bench to fill a little bit everywhere.

Guess he’ll go back to Leipzig in the summer and see what next.

Jack Lusby has linked to us to Mateus Mane at Wolves, Newcastle and Brentford supposedly also keen.

Happy to hear that, kid looks like a pretty good talent for his age, from what I saw. Also displayed the ability to cover a few positions.

And we do need more homegrown players

Brilliant. Johnny Firmino and Abdullah Salah next?
