The Unreliable Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 4)

Just to say I don’t mind anyone posting rumours from wherever, I mind someone replying to it like it’s a done deal and having a mini meltdown about it.

You’re right both Gomeses and Mane were neutralised by Liverpool.

Downing was amazing I believe

Konchesky was a masterstroke too.

Ah, Konchesky had a master stroke, that’s why he was so poor.

He’s French so he must be good. Right?

Liverpool are giving serious thought to signing 26-year-old Al-Ittihad and France winger Moussa Diaby, with the former Aston Villa man keen to leave the Saudi Pro League club this summer. (Teamtalk)

Here we go with the attempts at unsettling an RM target. TBH, I wouldn’t mind too much if he did leave. He’s really gone off the boil this season and we need someone bigger in midfield. As good as Alexis can be, he is a bit on the short and slight side.

Argentina midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, 27, is not planning to hold talks with Liverpool over a new contract this summer but is happy at Anfield despite links with Real Madrid . (Mundo Deportivo - in Spanish)

I really liked the look of Diaby at Leverkusen and thought we missed a trick not getting him. His record for Al-Ittihad is absolutely gash though

Oh. He used to play for Leverkusen? Just like Frimpong and Wirtz. Who was their coach there? Oh right. It’s all falling into place!

Who is this German with a very unGerman name? Answers on a postcard please.

Liverpool remain in the market for a defender this summer and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Germany international Nnamdi Collins is a target, with Arsenal also monitoring the 22-year-old. (Mirror)

He’s a fan of the Afro Celt Soundsystem.

Polish mother and Nigerian father, born in Düsseldorf, first name Pharrell.

Not exactly sure where the Irish name comes in.

Nnamdi seems to be Nigerian forename but in his case Nnamdi Collins is a surname.

Anyway, plays at CB and RB which could be useful.

I’ve watched him play a couple times, and he seems to have reign across the entire back line. Now, that may be Frankfurt’s system of Willy-nilly defending, but he is very good with the ball. Definitely a defender that could play multiple, if not all, positions across the back line.

His positions played so far in his career, though it might be also some youth games involved.

Apparently he was ‘verwundert’ (surprised/bewildered) himself when he read about the England rumours.
Seen him play a little bit for Eintracht and one half in his debut for Germany (where he was terrible, but so was pretty much everyone in that game).

Maybe we should sign Willy Nilly instead?

Isn’t Willy Nilly Latin for impotence?

Not quite.

His last name is Collins.

Nnamdi is his first name and Pharrell is his middle name. Could also be vice versa…

Remember Rod Fanni?
