The Unreliable Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 4)

You know it makes sense.

I wouldn’t mind us getting him he would get on with Wirtz like a house on fire.

Are we in a position to get anyone from newcastle after Isak?

I meant Alvarez not him.

Of course, because they might be in a position not to ignore some important offers.

If Spurs go down we should absolutely go in for Kudus.

Have we completely lost the ability to spot gems like Robbo at a bargain price or are they just that rare?

Imagine we brought in a striker in the version of Robbo. Be moaning about being cheap Skates.

It tends to be difficult anyhow to be fair, buying young and developing is probably more likely.

As for a new striker, we need vers types. At this moment the space that Salah leaves is the only place, talk about buying to cover Hugo’s absence is a bit silly. Whoever comes in needs to look at using his options more and maybe even the likes of Morrison as there are pressing needs elsewhere.

I was just thinking in general.

We have a number of glaring holes to fix as well as backups to acquire now that both starting options and especially bench strength need serious and immediate addressing.

A few years ago at Ajax, he looked very interesting to me.

Not so sure about him anymore these days, whether his ceiling is one for being a protagonist player for a side that wants to go back competing and winning the biggest prizes.

Not sure why he’d want Juve given that they’ve been in the dumps for a while now

He tried to end his cycle and pulled a calf muscle.

He’s been wonderful, but I feel its time. Lets give Mama the room to prove himself in a way he wouldnt have with Ali still around getting 15 game runs in between injuries

I’d be ok with this. Alisson was the best in the world for a good spell there, while playing for us. The injuries are getting more frequent and he has slid past his peak. Still a very good goalkeeper, so if we keep him, great!

But it is becoming a toss up between him and Mama, and I will be fine if we put the younger man in to see what he can do. He’s obviously a good goalie, but we don’t know if he can be a great goalie, which Alisson has been for us. If Alisson departs, let’s find out.

It would be another player to buy though. Woodman could potentially be ok as a number 2 from what I’ve seen of him in the Championship.

Rumour about Sensi

Liverpool are leading the race for 28-year-old Bournemouth and Argentina defender Marcos Sensi, who is out of contract this summer. (i paper)

Also one about Gordon… though combined with an Everton link means it’s probably just click bait.

Liverpool are interested in Newcastle’s England winger Anthony Gordon, 25, and Everton and Senegal forward Iliman Ndiaye, 26, as they seek to bolster their attacking options for next season. (Teamtalk)

I mentioned Senesi the other day as one to watch. On a free. Prem proven. 28 I think. Bridges the age gap between Virg and the emerging talent we are bringing through in Leoni and Jacquet, plus those behind them.

Senesi would not be a main man, but would be well worth his place in the group, assuming some changes happen. Without knowing about outgoing, we are speculating as to the possible fit.

Yeah I’d want money for Alisson and wouldn’t let Juve have him for free - we can’t afford to be replacing every single one of these guys right now without some cash coming in.

I’m not convinced by Mama. Plus if we let Alisson leave for free we are out of pocket paying for another backup. I’d prefer another season of both with Mama expected to make the role his own.

yep, i agree, but the devil can be in the detail…

being ā€˜assured’ a first team place seems really childish, being young and wanting ā€˜assurances’ that you are seriously considered for a first team place is different.

you can probably look across to young Rio to imagine what that might have looked like… i imagine he would have wanted some kind of conversation around his first team prospects, and i imagine some hack would report that as rio asking about being ā€˜assured’ a first team place.

yeah i wouldnt have picked this angle from you.

Alisson still comfortably the better keeper in my book, and if fit he starts at the moment.

Mama still needs alot of work and these 15 game runs are really good.

id go one more year with as is, and see where Mama is then.

sided with what we have to do this season already, finding another keeper would make life tough
