I am sure Ngomoha is great but we don´t owe him anything. If a top player is available, bring them in.

I was referring to Frimpong as a player who’s got a lot of pace, but questionable whether he’s of the overall quality to be a starter here.

I’m all for clearing a pathway for a talent like Rio, but we can’t then says he can only play ten minutes a week because he’s just a boy.
That feels like bullshit when it was said last year. It would be more so if they tried the same line again.

I think we need to sign a good winger, with pace; plus a versatile attacker who can cover the wing and be a threat through the middle, since Isak gets injuries and Ekitike is out.
Rio needs a lot more minutes too.

Even if that were true, the other half of his games were on the left. That´s x amount of games more than what we have now. We have nobody even close to being as good as him on the left. 0 games this season of a sufficient player on the left wing.
Letting him go was fine. Not buying another attacker for that left side was madness.

Yes that logic from the club is also bizarre.
The kid has to play a lot of games (because we think he will be a superstar and can be very good already), or he´s not good enough yet and you don´t get rid of your best wide player without replacing him.

Depends.
Obviously’s he’s played all 3 positions down the right at different levels (Celtic, where he played RB, is of course not the same as Liverpool). At Leverkusen he was a RWB, but playing very high (higher than Grimaldo on the opposite side). For the Netherlands, he’s mostly used as a winger.
Main point is that pace alone (even if we might lack it) is not enough.

I hope we are trying hard to get good home grown players like Rogers and Wharton etc.
