The Unreliable Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 4)

And Hato apparently being our alternative to Kerkez is also amazing in terms of thought process.

Sorry senility has set in when I posted that!

The mention of Hato was as an example I did know he was a LB/CB, I wish we had kept Quansah.
We were linked to Hato to replace the Greek scouse though.

That’s what I was referring to, I don’t understand how it was Kerkez or Hato. Especially now that I’m really getting to know Kerkez. Doesn’t make much sense.

It’s difficult to find versatile defenders, Calafiori after having a very good Euros just before Arsenal signed him would’ve been a good pick up. Believe we were also linked with Timber at the same time.

Isn’t Gomez supposed to be that for us? Isn’t the only reason we stopped him from leaving in the summer due to his versatility?..but Arne has no intentions to play him at fullback which is the only position he’s looked good in for the past 5 years. He’s opted to play Quansah, Endo, Jones and Szobo there over him…why?

Was thinking of the other 5-1 v Arsenal where Bobby got a hattrick. Was under Klopp of course

In the 5-1 under Rodgers we were actually more in a 4-3-3 that day, it wasn’t the diamond shape (we did use it in some games, especially later on). Suarez playing in the right half-space, well explained by Rodgers why he wanted Luis against Arsenal’s left side of defence that day. Sturridge was up top, Sterling on the left.

Was that the one where he didn’t look at any of the finishers.

And one of the Arsenal players ended up on his arse, ah those were good days.

I think it was the “Fuck, we’ve scored too early…” one

I thought that was the one where we scored 4 inside 20 minutes under Rodgers, I woke up that day after being out late to a text from a mate saying I can enjoy the rest of the day thinking what’s he on about.

Hato looked absolutely pants in the one start he had in Chelsea’s away draw at Qarabag

It’s not so much the quality that I wondered about, but the style. How we had Hato as the alternative to Kerkez is confusing. Frimpong and Kerkez alone are confusing. But I also understand that the media doesn’t know everything.

Wasn’t sure whether to put this in the ibou thread or here, but either way Madrid have rather understandably been out off by his performances this season

They really watched him and said

Damn it!

What? They watched more than the one game he showed up for.

No club in their right senses would sign him now, even a pub team would think twice.

Suppose it’s better to not sign someone you have doubts over than to sign someone you think will transform your play, only to find out pretty early on you’d left yourself in a world of disappointment.

Always need the numbers. :joy:

At this rate we’ll soon get an article "WBA drop interest in Konate in their pursuit of a Nat Phillips backup.
