specific ones, yes…Wirtz?, not so much.

i think it all relates to what you see they are trying to do…

So Wirtz is beyond critique then? I know you don’t mean that and don’t get me wrong, Wirtz is probably the best player in our last 3 games. And not just showing flashes of quality but pretty consistently throughout games. So there is hope once he and the team is settled, he will be world class for us.

However the point I am making that some players we seem to find all the positives, but for some we seem to only find all the negatives

Case in point for example is Gakpo. Most goal contributions this season. No need to praise him but yet there will be sections who will find all the negatives about him but yet we will all try to find positives for Wirtz.

you answered your own question.

Maybe I can be enlightened. It’s great we find positives for Wirtz, but why do we only find negatives for a player like Gakpo.

we dont. its simple as that.

plenty of praise finds its way to Gakpo when he earns it. having the best goal contributions this season doesnt mask the form hes in. its worth judging him becuase his effort in 50/50s is pretty poor. he cuts in from the left every time. he is quite static.

Wirtz is also not beyond criticism… if you read a bit further up, hey presto, youll read criticism on Wirtz.

However, the push back is that Wirtz is doing alot of things right…the team just arent on his wavelength.

furthermore…your insistance that this forum sees things one way and one way only is tedious…

again…plenty of people have criticised Wirtz, plenty of people have praised Gakpo historically.

your point is not even valid, but if it was, you answered it yourself when you said you can see Wirtzs quality.

Isak…theres another lad getting pelters, whilst Ekitike gets some praise at least…i could throw out that Isak has scored more goals in the past two games than Ekitike…but its a pointless fact and doesnt defend Isak in any way at all.

cheers. hope it clears that up.

Which is fine. I’d rather it wasn’t when he should be concentrating on defending.

Ahhh the hell of just 24 hours ago, how little did we appreciate how good we had it back then.

With the chaos and possibility of coaching instability, who would want to come in Jan, never mind the summer transfer window? I really hope that the current saga is not going to blow up in our face.

assume you mean player wise?

i reckon we are safe there, still shopping at the top shelf…plenty of quality here for anyplayer to think this is a one off season.

obviously there are no garuntees for anyone…but i dont think these last few months would change anyones minds just yet

From what the players who recently joined LFC, they always said that they joined because of the vision provided by the coach/manager, and spoke to them in person. If the turmoil is still going on during the Jan transfer window, then it will be a massive issue to sell LFC to these players.

yeah i know what you mean, im not saying its a positive overall…i just dont think it will impact as much as we might fear.

i.e

Semenyo who is heavily linked, probably sees this as a massive oppurtunity, especially after the last few hours

Guehi…well he walks in the team, yeah?

not to mention the improved salaries

are other clubs a more attractive proposition? maybe i would concede its hurting us a bit there, but given the spots we need to fill, and who else might be in the market, its probably not as critical.

even if say its between us and city for either one of them two… the manager situation is not miles different , Slot you’d assume is likely gone, but Pepe you wouldnt think has much longer himself, whether its on his own terms or not

missing out on CL football might present an issue for a player in the absolute peak of thier powers, but we dont seem to shop for them as much either

Yes. This was posted before yesterday’s game.

Confidence is high that a Saudi Pro League side will be able to sign Egypt forward Mohamed Salah, 33, from Liverpool in January in a cut-price deal. (The i paper - subscription required)

However, in today’s BBC goss there’s this, which may no longer be true.
There have not been any talks between Saudi Arabian clubs and Liverpool’s 33-year-old Egypt forward Mohamed Salah. (Fabrizio Romano)

There’s also this, but I can’t imagine anyone paying any money for Konate given his current form.
Liverpool will accept an offer of about £15m for 26-year-old France defender Ibrahima Konate in January if they can find a replacement. (Football Insider)

BTW, it’s also rumoured that Palace are “monitoring the situation of Max Kilman at West Ham”. Unsurprisingly, that’s been put out by Football Insider.
