According to TERADEPORTES from Ecuador Liverpool have reached an agreement with Joel Ordonez and are now negotiating with Club Brugge over his signing.
Glad to see we are making a move at centre back. We were thinking Guehi, but the more I think about that, the more it doesnāt make sense for January, as whatever transfer fee would be paid to Palace would be money Guehi would be taking away from himself with a Bosman signing bonus.
Hopefully Ordonez has the tools to come here and do well. Good luck to that lad, assuming the transfer completes.
Does anyone see any other January business?
No clue how good this lad is, donāt follow Belgian football.
All he basically has to do in order to be at least 3rd choice, is stay fit.
Itās an unusual one for us to take someone so young from such a low level league. This doesnāt meet our āconfidenceā requirements so unless this is super cheap he must look absolutely fantastic. Even if it is cheap though itās difficult to see how weād have the confidence in this guy at this stage to have the impact this season we need, so maybe that means someone else is expected to come in as well?
Iāve seen 35 to 43 million mentioned. Think that was euros.

Player signs for Brighton from a Belgium club then becomes brilliant.
āWe need to be going after these players when they move from Belgiumā.
Liverpool sign players from Belgium club
āChristā
Hughes and FSG canāt win, if they deem him good enough so be it. Heās 21 heās young and he can improve and a 10 minute YouTube video really tells you nothing. It can be firstly manipulated and heās played what 40 games+
The club does need a first team player but if Guehi is agreed and no one really knows youāve also got Leoni. Itās about building for the future. And this lad is cover for rotation but also one for the future.
I think I read he has played 100 games, and 20 odd have been in the CL.
Edit
A quick look on Transfermarket shows 18 CL games.
Clearly he is making a jump up to come to a club like Liverpool, so hopefully he has the attributes to make it here. Each player is different, but Leoni, even on his one game in a Liverpool shirt, looked the part.
Not sure where Ordonez would be in the pecking order right now, but at the least, it is a bit more insurance for an area that looks thin.
Exactly well thatās even better then. Iāll keep an open mind on the lad if he does indeed arrive.
Yeah itās almost like different people are making different arguments and one argument shouldnāt be held to be logically consistent with an argument someone else has made.
You donāt know what heās about or whether we are even signing him, you donāt even know the price.
Same Ecuadorian club as Caicedo and Hincapie.
You seem to be reading things into my comments I didnāt say.
Ecuadorian players are pretty wanted these days, arenāt they? Will be interesting to see what they can offer as a national side in next years. Right now they have one of the worldās best and most complete midfielders. Every now and again you hear about some new player or new kid that is signing for an important club.
We need that Christ fellow, heard he played centre half for Jeruselem a while back!
Highly doubt Roma (at least this Roma) is what Salah would be after at this stage of his career. What would be the motivation to do that?
In that case, from his perspective, rather stay at Liverpool, build more legacy, win more stuff and see out his contract.
Nailed itā¦
