The only unreliable rumour to discuss is whether Harvey Elliot is coming back, and what will Slot do with him if he does
Ok…
Why?
Elliott coming back would add to our wage cost and free up space on Villa’s. If there is any fee payable to cancel the loan it should be by Villa to us.
Furthermore, the whole point of the loan was to facilitate a permanent move to Villa in the summer when their FFP situation clears up a little. They are choosing not to honour that.
That’s what he did last summer.
Then the question is for Villa did they really want him, what options Elliott had on his table for him and his agents not to find anything until deadline day. We had our price set (which we might not get know) and that’s it.
I highly doubt he would’ve been in serious contention to go to the WC, even if he was playing regularly. The competition in his positions is just too high.
Regarding his chances - they’re zero right now which, would not be the case if he was playing regularly for a team in the top 4.
I was thinking more of a transfer request now however. Would a transfer request change the current situation - for him at least. Probably not and even if it did, who is going to be in for him beyond possibly a championship side… To say Emery has stifled his progression/career would be an understatement.
Thanks, Marc. I don’t know what you thought of LFC when you were so close to signing just a few months ago…
That we’re the biggest.

Looking at the league table that’s Arsenal. Looking at who won the title last that’s Liverpool.
Looking at last weekends results it’s certainly not Man City.
Obviously the Pastor’s son is full of shit…
Basically we did them a massive favour by letting them have Harvey on a deferred payment because of their PSR issues - the suggestion being that we negotiated some kind of option on Morgan Rodgers.
It appears that Harvey has found himself used as a pawn in a power struggle between the DOF and Emery.
If they don’t want Harvey then OK, that a bit shit on their part. But if they are digging their heels in around letting him come back, then I find that disgraceful.

Why?
I will try and find the article again, or another that isn’t behind a paywall… It was something to do with LFC not being able to recall Harvey (as in a normal loan agreement), so if they want him back, they have to pay a fee to secure that.
Villa don’t want him there, and are unlikely to play him for the stipulated 10no. games to trigger full purchase agreement, yet neither do they want to pay his wages for the remainder of the season.
Yes Villa would have to pay a termination fee to LFC if they cancel the loan agreement, something they are reluctant to do apparently, and are currently looking to try and off-load him to the MLS league for the remainder of the season… this would navigate them out the mess of the whole thing
Looking at the contract he just signed…
That means he just signed an expensive contract.
Just passing on second hand info from my “reliable” source:
Saying that Curtis to Spurs is definite.
Please don’t shoot the messenger!
which will fail as FIFA rules stipulate a player cannot play for 3 teams in 1 season. Having already played for both Liverpool and Villa, no other move is possible until the summer.
Have we downgraded Doris the tealady to Anastasia the vodka server?
The MLA operate under different guidelines which makes it possible ![]()
Here is a quote from the Liverpool Echo:
" However, as Elliott has already played for both Liverpool and Aston Villa this season, he cannot play for another European club during the current campaign - essentially ruling out another loan elsewhere on the continent.
The MLS, however, operates on a different schedule, meaning he could play there - a fact that has caught the attention of clubs across the pond.
According to Mail Sport, Charlotte FC, now managed by former Villa boss Smith, are potential suitors for Elliott."
I’m not sure that sounds pretty reliable to be honest unless we are going buy Wharton or Bergvall.
Not saying it won’t happen however just you’d have no midfield cover.
Was chatting with my mate, who gets this information, and we are surmising that if this is true, it may mean Harvey comes back as cover, and they use the funds gained for a late January transfer or two. I would guess a CB, and I see a report that Alvarez would like another PL shot.
Possibly.
I don’t know if Spurs need another CM mind. Maybe they want Slot to go public like Amorim and then they can sack him ![]()
It does seem weird with all they have, but do have a huge rash of injuries there, Kudus the latest. Just passing on the info I get. They’ve been spot on with lineups, we’ll see where this goes.![]()
I will say this, and it has absolutely nothing to do with the information I’ve gotten, but I’ve been frustrated by Curtis this season. He will be 25 in a few days, and while he is a tidy player, he doesn’t seem to influence games much. He has over 1400 minutes in PL and CL, and Saturday’s assist was his first goal involvement. I believe we need more than that, and if you can get a nice fee, that ALL goes in the asset column, it might not be the worst thing in the world.
