Don’t shoot the messenger!
Some people take this stuff far too seriously.
Edit: Ah! I see. You’re getting at TIA, not me. Despite the pinch of salt, I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened.

Whoa hold on a second, I’m not having that even in a thread known for unreliable sources of information - Lord Street in Southport inspired the wide, tree-lined boulevards of Paris. In 1838, the exiled Prince Louis-Napoléon (later Emperor Napoleon III) lived in the area. He reportedly loved the grand, wide high street so much that he later tasked Baron Haussmann to rebuild Paris in its image, earning Southport the nickname “the Paris of the North”.
The cess pit over the other side of Morecambe bay known as Blackpool was at best the blueprint for the 18th Arrondissement - known for being sketchy, crowded, and messy, especially late at night ![]()
Blackpool Tower was built between 1891 and 1894, inspired by the Eiffel Tower in Paris which was built between 1887 and 1899.
Like everything else in Blackpool it was just a cheap tacky knock off version ![]()
To use the modern parlance Blackpool would be what you get if you ordered Paris from TEMU ![]()
Outrageous slander smh.
(Obviously I’m just having a bit of fun, and have never actually been to Blackpool)
What thread is this again?
I will go for Nwaneri and Miles Lewis-Skelly for half the price instead. Young, versatile, and added bonus of homegrown talent.
It seems that Arsenal won’t sell Lewis Skelly to us, but only to a few clubs including Chelsea and United
Sounds like the Blackpool I know!![]()
But at least you’d get it 4 times quicker ![]()

Maybe it’s just a conspiracy theory, but… when I close my eyes, I can see a French flag in the cabinet next to the Uruguayan one… do you see it too?

Is Tianducheng the temu versio of Paris?
So, missing out on Guehi was planned.

What thread is this again?
Tacky English seaside resorts and French baked goods thread.
Do pay attention!
That is very weird framing of the Mbaye story for him being the one who is too expensive.
I tried to buy a kit kat and a Lamborghini, but could you believe they now charge 50p for a kit kat?
Can tell you’ve not lived this side of the pond for a couple of decades with that pricing lol
Do we know for sure they refuse to sell Lewis-Skelly to us, or are they only talking about Chelsea and Utd because they are the 2 clubs to openly express interest?
I recently saw a shop charging 85p for a Freddo, I’m not prone to violent acts but feel like I would have been entirely justified in burning the place to the ground ![]()

Even trying to frame it as Barcola and Mbaye for €200m combined seems like a similar ‘deal’, even getting both for the rumoured asking price of Barcola alone would still be too much.
