Youth pedigree isnāt a guarantee of making it, but it is pretty impossible to project breakthrough potential without any pedigree. And these days with how well developed the academies are, a lack of youth pedigree is itself a pretty strong signal.
And no, I donāt consider playing for a third tier nation at an U17 world cup a good youth pedigree in the absence of being at a high profile academy. Not the sort that allows you to start projecting out being ready for premier league football
I do think the level of toxicity from the fanbase about the current state of the club is disproportionate to reality. We have world class talents throughout our starting XI. And yes, while there are credible question marks about a few players and some depth issues, there isnāt a single club in football thatās decidedly settled everywhere.

I think Iraola will start to harness what he has at his disposal and we will improve as we go. I expect a CL finish and signs that we can challenge for the title next season.
We will surely get a top right winger at some point, and you would have to think a midfielder will be on the cards too. Beyond that we are looking to see how the right back position unfolds, and also what happens in central defence.
There are legitimate question marks for plugging some gaps, but he flip side of that is we do have some options and we do have a lot of talent at the club.

Wouldnāt it be great to have a director of football that was great in the role and was Liverpool through and through, then we hopefully wouldnāt get the constant flux in changing then every 1 or 2 years.

Iām not overly concerned that we canāt find 4 quality options out of there. That is a talented group and while they wonāt all pan outā¦ some will. If we can extend VVD for a year as a rotational option we might have no problem. Young perhaps, but I think the recruitment team did a good job here at CB. Very early but so far I like Araujo.
So we might have a small issue at CB, but Iām not overly concerned.
So likely we need to concentrate on a DM and RB. Frimpong doesnāt look like he is going to make it here but with the way prices are goingā¦ we can probably recover our fee and use it to fund another RB.

I think CB is fine. There is a time to believe people like Jaquet are good enough. Bournemouth had a 20 year old CB everyone wanted us to get. Lets trust the squad not bleat we need Stones or an Aston Villa player for Ā£50m.
You do see it, though. He was nearly responsible for four goals against Forest. One chalked off because of a questionable offside, one header that went off the crossbar, the hockey assist to Isak (via Gakpo), and the direct assist to Munoz.
When he has the ball, good things happen. That has to be our guiding light, especially when facing compact defenses.
@JustHitMyHead itās funny how some want a DM now. Iāve wanted one for years (we did have Fabinho). Now others are calling for a DM I donāt see it. If weāre playing Iraolaās 4231 itās 2 real CMers that we need. With luck the midfielders we have can start doing a decent job there, there really isnāt any reason they canāt with a bit of time.
Ok Iām not a big fan of any of them even so they are capable footballers. In a well drilled squad things should iron out.
