guess it’s hard for iraq war cheerleaders to admit george w bush was worse (so was reagan)
these geniuses did a dual endorsement of warren & klobuchar in the democratic party. clowns
Now that’s a dangerous assumption.
waking up and remembering virgil’s knee today was like the morning after this freak won
this makes trump sound cool and the picture makes biden look like a fascist maniac
bet CIA morale is slumping after MAS won in bolivia
No, no, they are happy to have something to do…
Unfortunately and ominously true
former obama white house staffer saying the quiet part loud
Hardly. He is saying this is a policy failure for Trump because the outcome is exact opposite of what their policy goals were. It is not a statement of concern about the rise of the latin american left, and he has frequently spoken in support of these movements and their leaders.
obama’s administration helped impeach rousseff and helped a corrupt right-wing judge throw lula in jail. the result is bolsonaro
not to be disrespectful, but i’m not going to bother looking for ben rhodes praising morales or chavez, because i don’t believe there are examples of such
gee maybe extreme centrist dipshittery about ‘populism’ and ‘authoritarianism’ on BOTH SIDES isn’t helpful or instructive
i googled ‘ben rhodes chavez’ and this interminable atlantic article came up
The U.S. president talks through his hardest decisions about America’s role in the world.
this paragraph really demonstrates the arrogance of US:
Obama said that to achieve this rebalancing, the U.S. had to absorb the diatribes and insults of superannuated Castro manqués. “When I saw Chávez, I shook his hand and he handed me a Marxist critique of the U.S.–Latin America relationship,” Obama recalled. “And I had to sit there and listen to Ortega”—Daniel Ortega, the radical leftist president of Nicaragua—“make an hour-long rant against the United States. But us being there, not taking all that stuff seriously—because it really wasn’t a threat to us”—helped neutralize the region’s anti-Americanism.
i ‘had to sit there and listen’ to criticism of our massacres and crimes against humanity in their country
I don’t know what point you are making. You implied Rhodes tweet implied supports of the right wing administrations in Latin America, or is at least not happy that the Morales won. It doesn’t. And other than just throwing mud to make him and his administration look like terrible American Imperialists, I don’t know the relevance of the subsequent posts.
again, both parties are pro-cop
reads to me like he’s blaming trump for MAS winning, and objecting to the incompetence, not the imperialism
obama talked to theresa may on the phone before the 2019 GE, jim messina left his white house to work for the tories
every US administration is opposed to the left, especially in the global south
reads to me like he’s blaming trump for MAS winning, and objecting to the incompetence, not the imperialism
You can criticise Trump for a policy failure without wanting his policy to have succeeded. In fact criticising his incompetence is a powerful electoral message, as it is directed to the people who are unlikely to vote for your guy but may stay home if they come to see their strongman as an ineffectual pussy who gets outplayed by everyone.
i hate this cackling phony
weird that this hasn’t stopped the libs from weaponizing KiDS iN CaGeS in the subsequent eleven months
they just want to go back to ignoring problems. they have zero interest in addressing them
weird that this hasn’t stopped the libs from weaponizing KiDS iN CaGeS in the subsequent eleven months
That’s a complete non-sequitur. You don’t need to believe that the responsibilities of ICE should be reassigned to other agencies and the agency dissolved to have a genuine issue with the governance of the agency or the policy they were asked to follow.
In any sane world Rudy Guiliani’s career would have been ended today by Sacha Baron Cohen.
But my guess is that nothing will happen.
boy i sure can’t think of any parallels
