I was speaking to my mate last night about and he clarified that this is different from Concierge. As I said, that is more geared to the relatively affluent who are willing to pay out of pocket money to get the sort of regular preventive services designed to maintain and maximize “wellness”. This is geared more towards lower income people who will need regular care to treat existing conditions and dont have very reliable means to pay for it.

anyone ever wonder what Trump’s hair looks like in the morning?

Forever on the search for something to laugh at.

Only you would have a picture to hand.

I tried to stay out of this thread, but this is waay way too far. Surely this is not ‘a show of power’ in his last days. Its utterly crass and inhumane. Apparently there have not been any Federal executions ordered since Bush Jr.!

This is true, but important to point out that the individual states have still continued the practice throughout that period.

I also read the other week about a change to the options available to the executioner that brought back in hanging and firing squad as options.

Right I see, I seem to recall hearing some problems were arising with lethal injection. But the Swiss seem to have it down to a tee, even for sale.

I did read the background to some of those up for execution, and whilst the headline teeters on shocking, so do the circumstances of some of the offenders.

Yeah. You’ll see it reported in lots of places that state level executions are down in recent years, but I think a large part of that has been down to a lack of availability over the drugs that are used. I don’t remember all the details, but I think the manufacturer of one of the key drugs in the cocktail stopped selling it to states to be used for executions and so the states that ran out of their supply simply were unable to do the executions they wanted to.

Thanks, well thats one way of asserting the human right to life. I think I recall that story in general terms but no detail; Im guessing it was coming from a non-capital punishment state.

Don’t want an abortion debate as that’s not the intent, but I see a massive inconsistency between the pro lifers who don’t want abortion, because they believe in the sanctity and value of life… but then they are usually fine with state sponsored execution.

I don’t get it.

Well there is always context, and innocence v guilt. I dont think the two are mutually dependent.

Brandon Bernard died today. Court ruled that the evidence that he was not a full participant as an 18 year old in the crime that had been withheld from the original defence was not relevant, as it had never been relevant that he was not in a leadership role. The victim’s family rushed to pronounce their forgiveness the moment it was no longer relevant.

And yet Americans like that would be horrifically offended at the idea that what the US is enduring now is divine punishment.

Alfred Bourgeois on deck tomorrow. To be blunt, less troubled by his execution, but the procession is disturbing. Who knows, Trump might start having white men executed next if this continues.

I know this view may not be looked upon kindly by alot of people but it is what I think. I just looked up Brandon Bernard to see what transpired. I have often wondered what I would feel or do if someone I dearly, dearly loved were to be murdered or severely harmed. Now, I look at my son and pregnant wife and I can honestly tell you that if anyone were to do to them what Brandon and his crew did to that young couple I would hunt them down forgiveness and the law be damned.

I am not by nature a violent person or even someone who seeks out conflict but there are horrific things done to innocent people day in and day out. I personally have no problem putting those people down be it the next day or twenty years down the line.

Not looking to start an argument here as I’m honestly torn by this issue and would sympathise with anyone that has had family members taken.

But what about those numerous reports of police killings we’ve seen on here recently? Some of those could actually be classed as equally horrific.

you’ll never convince me that some cretin like Alfred Bourgeous doesnt deserve the death penalty

I disagree with the idea of a state killing people and I know the number of people executed by state who later turned out to be innocent is horrifying.

The most disturbing part of these executions is that they seem to be carried out simply because the President is trying to kill as many people as he can before leaving office.

Like many things, they are as complicated/simple as you want them to be; there is always a narrative. The seed of violence is in man though; its actually in nature and is all around us. Go outside lift a slab on the garden and find 120 ants working on a worm; bitty little bites to death. I am fascinated by how man seeks to place himself outside the plane of nature. The first tool in this was God. That was the complicated.

Bourgeois should have gone the way he killed his own child; I was repulsed by reading that one.

Bernard I think is a way more complicated case…I think I would grant him clemency.

@Arminius Trump also executed a white female this week; Lisa Montgomery, for the strangulating murder of an 8month pregnant woman and then whom cut out the foetus and passed the child off as her own. I would have even tried for a ban on reporting.
