I think the biggest issue is they are too caught up in the zietgiest with very little capacity for seeing the bigger, longer-term picture. Kissinger’s was less than 12 months after the action he was awarded for. Likewise for Obama’s.
And that is odd, because that is the complete opposite perspective to the way the various science awards are given out by the Nobel committee.
You do know how Nobel made his money, right?
But the peace prize isn’t awarded by the Swedish foundation he set up.

Note, the description that is commonly being used, “exorbitant rate of hysterectomies” does not remotely cover how awful this is. This is being done under the guise of medical care, but the report states that this is being performed without informed consent, or medical justification, and even with deception (women going in for one treatment and coming out without a uterus). This is outright ethnic based forced sterilization
Like I said, this is not some niche story. It broke yesterday and is now being covered ubiquitously.
Gonna have to see some hard evidence for this one. The idea that this would not have broke sooner is one I can’t wrap my mind around. I don’t know of any medical professionals who would perform involuntary sterilization on patients without raising some kind of alarms. Just doesn’t track for me.
