The Walking Eagle thread

And a use of capital letters that my students would recognize. But in their defense they’re not native speakers of English.

Lovely gifts for christmas for the fuckwit relatives.

Jan 6 committee: Capitol riot panel recommends criminal charges against Donald Trump - BBC News

Here are the charges

Representative Jamie Raskin, a Maryland Democrat, announced the following charges against Donald Trump had been recommended to the Department of Justice:

  • Obstruction of an official proceeding
  • Conspiracy to defraud the United States
  • Conspiracy to make a false statement
  • Inciting, assisting, aiding, or comforting an insurrection

These referrals are not legally binding, but Raskin said they have ample evidence to back up their recommendations.

The justice department is conducting its own separate investigation into the riot and hundreds of people have pleaded guilty to federal charges as a result.

He’s not nearly as rich as he boasts.
He doesn’t pay taxes.
He doesn’t give to charity.

He’s missed the Christmas book sales with that one.
Fiction needs all of December to sell well.

Shame @Lowton_Red isn’t around anymore to pick through those when they appear.

It never happened

What a prick.

Honestly he just needs a street fight-style beatdown at this point so that his jaw is wired shut for a few months and fingers are mangled so he can’t spew his shite on the socials

Six years of tax returns released today. 2015-2020.

Thousands of pages, but I’m sure lots of interesting details. For example, he had a bank account in China until 2018, after saying it was shut down before he even started to run for President.

What business was going on? And what impact did that have on Presidential decision making. Etc.

There will be many such threads to untangle.

As usual, for a mobster, Trump comes out swinging and issuing threats. Bad faith radical Democrats for doing this, bad Supreme Court decision to allow it, it will divide America more. It’s a two way street. Democrats beware…

It should be a simple courtesy. Running for President? Here are my tax returns. Take a look. As you assess my fit for office, check to see this important part of my life is in order.

Oh, and if it is a President with significant business interests, then that should all be divested, and unrelated trustees should run the operation, blind to the President, so he/she can go about the important business of being President while not using the office for financial gain.

These things are a simple courtesy, and a matter of good manners and precedent.

Unfortunately, since Trump came along, they will probably have to become robust legal requirements. It is but one example of how he has coarsened the political process.

I saw that he paid some big tax sums in 2020 and I think 2017. Pretty much nothing in-between or since.

Just wondering if that’s a nuance if the US tax system?

Apparently you can carry over losses indefinitely to wipe out any tax due. The suspicion is that the losses were invented.
