Ah Okies my bad… :0)
Why do I all of a sudden have the urge to eat lasagne for my tea tomorrow
Place the tomatoes into the jar…as many as poss…place a small amount of vegatable oil on the top and a pinch of salt…place the lid on tight…and turn the jar upside down for 20mins. After 20 mins turn the jar over again…and place in a cool storage area…
Why not blend them first if they are to be used for sauce…?
asking for a friend :0)
Sounds good…
I have a ton of ziploc bags in the freezer already which are marinara sauce. just want to be able to store them quickly as I’m running out of time to get it done. too much to do right now
Can’t you make a ketchup ?
You should try ‘La Cuisine des mousquetaires’ a french gem of a programme. I have never laughed so much in my life until Boris etal took over UK politics.
Aesthetically more pleasing there’s ‘Les Carnets de Julie’ but be warned it’s not really funny but interesting. Some laughs, arguements over whether the tomatoes are juicy or not and the neccestity to add water or not to compensate.
Came across this last night…
Jeeez the guy does his best to entertain you by talking with his hands
doing tricks all the time, but he does put a lot effort into his video…
Think I will try this (without the juggling) as it does look so simple to make :0)
Why you are posting d*** pics lfti :0)
that plant needs some nutrients. you’re one step ahead of me though, I haven’t tried one of those yet.
I’m opposite of green-thumb. No matter how much care I give, plants don’t flourish in my hand.
Coddle. One pot winter food on a budget. Not to everyones liking i’ve been told(something about the sausages ) but much loved in Dublin.
hardest part of gardening is the growing medium. if you’re growing out of pots, you have to add nutrients to the water. if you’re growing out of a garden bed, then add compost, peat and manure to provide the plants with food.
some are much hardier than others. some like different soil (tomatoes and potatoes require much different.), some like different light (leafy greens like lettuce/mints/spinach/herbs are delicate don’t do well under hot sun).
I’ve heard of this coddle. interesting that the meat doesn’t get browned first?
I do a similar dish, basically sausage and kale soup. onions carrots potatoes and sausage, but everything gets cooked/browned in the pot then we add the stock and kale to simmer for 30-45min.
A lot of people do brown them first but i’m not a big fan of doing that.Everyones favourite Coddle is really how your mam made it and this is how mine cooked it.
Other than the kale,we have rashers(bacon) in ours but your dish sounds fairly similar to how plenty would cook this dish here.Outside of Dublin nobody else in Ireland eats this though,to their loss i think.
Really enjoying working from home these days.
Two eggs on toast with guacamole and home-made pepper sauce …
