Arsenal and Porto might not be the most difficult games but what an outstanding return to the side for him. The way he move the ball around opens things up for everyone else.

Brilliant player.

Class. :sunglasses:

Like I said, the slightly deeper LCM spot is the best position for him in our system. We can get out easier (help our #6 and shift slightly across when our RCM naturally plays higher because of Salah also playing higher), his best foot (which is his main weapon, vision and passing) is more open towards the game and multiple passing lanes, he brings the control and is better protected surrounded by the likes of Virgil, Robbo, Fabinho, Mane.

Great goal tonight. Iā€™ve dreamt of hitting the ball like that, never quite managed it. Like skimming a stone across water. Brilliant technique.

Yeah, great description. One of the sweetest ball contacts Iā€™ve seen from our players.

Lovely goal tonight, that and his play generally is making it clear why we bought him.
Over the moon to see that the lad, after a few rough spots, seems to be getting it together, nicely.

The goal was the icing on the cake but I thought that even before that this was his best performance for us since he signed. I canā€™t remember him playing so many passes through the lines and he consistently opened them up. The assist for the Mane disallowed goal was a peach and that shot was a real wow moment.

It was a great performance but I donā€™t think his best, heā€™s had some fantastic spells here including being absolutely pivotal in our run in when we got top 4. Heā€™s a world class player and something so different to any other player we have.

I do think his high risk game, which when fit he uses to make players look silly and create space effortlessly, can lead to easy turn overs when heā€™s not 100% fit. Now that period is over I think heā€™s going to boss the league.

My first impression of the goal was that the GK was poor. My second impression of the goal was that the defenders made it difficult for the GK. After watching few times from different angles, my opinion about the goal is, woof :firecracker:

I think he literally placed it perfectly. In slow motion it looks like a picked out shot aiming for the one part of the goal he could score. Then in real time itā€™s a thunderbastard that assume must be a ā€œhit and hopeā€! Top class player. There are those that can pick out from distance and there are those that can smash a thunderbastard and hope for the best. To do both is bloody special!

I hope weā€™ve heard the last of ā€˜he doesnā€™t fit our style ā€¦ heā€™s too slow ā€¦ he canā€™t handle the English gameā€™ nonsense now.

The guy is pure class and we should feel honoured that he chose to come to us. Some of the abuse he was getting when he was clearly struggling with fitness and acclimatisation was both shameful and embarrassing tbh.

I wish this could happen but what @rupzzz says is more likely.

I loved his running battle with Traore. I dont think so, but did they spend any meaningful time together at Barca before he left for Bayern?
