Long may the fantastic run of form and health continue! Beast today.
Passing aside, he broke their play so many times. Wonderful to watch. Allows Klopp to have him and just one of Hendo/ Fab if we want to go more attacking.
Hope he stays fit. What a fantastic addition to the squad.
It was the number of times he won the ball back yesterday that really stood out. I donāt know if heās adjusted better to the pace of these games or the coaching heās been getting is now paying dividends but last season he was rushing into tackles and giving cheap fouls away. Not happening so much now. Really good challenge on Hoever at the end that led indirectly to our goal. Would have been easy to have given a foul away in that situation but he timed it perfecly.
To be fair to him regaining possession was always a strong part of his game as I understand it. I guess weāre seeing a fit and fully adjusted Thiago now. Shame it took so long but when someone tries to cut your legs off I guess the delay was inevitable.
One thing Iāve personally learning from any player under Klopp is patience. They are in the squad for a reason and each are given time by him. They very often return that favor and deliver. The question of āfitting inā doesnāt really apply. They were generally bought in with the knowledge that they would fit in. The only question is how long will it take to adjust tactically and perhaps physically.
Heās definitely adjusted to the pace and intensity of the EPL, much quicker in everything he does. Better positionning.
Klopp has changed the tactical formation as well (so tweeks) that have allowed Thiago to be more prominent and better possitionned for his style.
All imo of course.
Any thoughts on his performance after Origi came on?
I saw we switched to a double pivot and to me he fitted perfectly with that. It also seemed to tighten up the midfield a little as Fabinho was struggling a bit before that point. I thought we would play this way more often when we signed him to be honest.
I love watching this guy live.
He has lapses in concetration and makes a few silly mistakes, but heās always giving it 100%. He gives every other player an option for the pass every single time, so much more so than our other midfielders. And he wants to win, 100%. Heās a bit of a shithouse, a bit of scrapper.
Heās a lovely footballer to watch, never perfect with a few limitations, but always battling. He makes this Liverpool Xl better.
Heās great to watch on the tele as well, his passing against AV was one of the best displays Iāve seen, yes you miss the engagement and commitment on the tele but when a player is that good, stringing it all together itās still wonderful.
I am so glad we bought him and I got to see him playing, probably wouldnāt have had that opportunity otherwise.
I was watching Barcelona regularly during his time there, so I was somewhat familiar with him already, but he didnāt particularly stand out in that team due to the way Barcelona played at the time, though obviously talented.
Mostly Iāve been pleasantly surprised by how scrappy he is these days. Love that in a player and it wasnāt so much a part of his game when he was younger.
Probably something you may have observed, but I recollect it was him on his feet towards the final few minutes in the near the technical area.
Why do they look surprised? Iām not at hearing those stats.
Nor me , especially after Saturdayās game. They hunted absolutely everything down in the middle of the park.
We really could have done with him yesterday. Great player but makes Keita look like Iron Man.
What concerns me is the fact that his injury is classified as Hip Injury which isnāt any ordinary niggles and may require considerable time to heal.
Out for season. Heard it here first. Got no proof but yeah.
Seen a twitter account delete the comment. Hope itās fake.
Iād look to move him, Nabby and ox on the summer and get players in who can play more than a handful of games all season.
I read Thiago has been injured for 35 games of 79 since heās been here. Nearly half.
