Trent ALEXANDER-ARNOLD: 2020/21

Currently carrying the team (with some help) onwards. What a player we have.

David Ornstein is apparently saying he is going to miss out on the Euro’s

What a fucking useless prick Southgate is. It shouldn’t even be a conversation.

Puting my Aussie hat on, I’m glad if GS does leave him out as that would mean he gets a full break before pre-season so should be fit and firing for next season - along with VVD who will also have had a proper break and pre-season. Now for the rest of the International managers to decide to drop our players this summer and it would be a perfect summer

Southgate is just shit, another of the old boys brigade which has plagued the national team… Boothroyd, Southgate all extremly limited “managers” who play safety first football.

Imagine not building your team around Trent, Foden and Sancho for the next 10 years worth of football? We as a country are shit scared of losing so much it makes us fear any player who dares to take a chance.

Trent is one of our countries true world class players, he’s carrying this Liverpool team at 22, he has redefined the right back position…

But no take Trippier haha fucking idiot (who is a shit defender btw - A critique at Trent which isn’t even remotely true).

I apologise for hurting the feelings of everyone who cares about the international football but I’ll actually be glad if he can have the summer’s rest. He had COVID, he had injuries, his season was a disjointed one and he barely had a breather when he was fit. He, Mane, Robertson and Firmino need some rest before the next season in my opinion.

Will get ran ragged sadly, Robbo for sure. Read somewhere Bobby might have 6 games for Brazil this summer as well.

I agree with your other point though (Trent won’t) would much rather they all had a big rest and full pre-season to hit the ground running.

Totally agree with @aussielad and @Nikola .

The national team managers, at least most of the lot, just exploits the players and our lads suffer the most.

A good, long, break is now an essential. Otherwise players may develop long term injuries.

It will be a blessing if a bunch of our players get 5-6 weeks break and a proper preseason before the start of the next season.

Ive seen a lot of lfc fans say who cares he will get a rest…ill tell you who cares - Trent. He will be devastated.
I know its club before country for most fans (inc me) but the poor lad will be gutted.
I hope Ornstein is wrong and TAA goes as he deserves it for more than Trippier.

He’ll get over it. Southgate is digging his own grave but I couldn’t care less. I hope he doesn’t select Henderson either.

Considering they have a plan in place for being competitive any step back probably will see Southgate go.

Firmino won’t play all 6 I reckon, but yeah he has a Copa America so it’s probably more than 6.

Firmino, Fabinho, and Alisson has 9 scheduled games this summer.

Isn’t Alison second choice and Fabinho isn’t regular.

Only Bobby is of the three.

I’m not too bothered with these guys as Brazil haven’t played for months anyhow and everyone else will be suffering similar fates.

It’s the crap like the Arab cup in the autumn which is annoying me

Yeah, Arab Cup is just heap of crap, specially now that it’s been vetted by FIFA.

All three Brazilians are in the squad. So they will be exposed to the health hazards. Not to mention not getting any rest.

Ederson played last time, but overall I believe Ali is still no. 1. Maybe not as guaranteed, when Ederson is your other choice. Fabinho is second choice to Casemiro, yeah. And recently, they’ve been using Jesus also off the sides more. So Firmino will probably rotate with him and other forwards. We have to see how Tite judges recent form of all of them.

Sorry to everyone, didn’t even realize we were in poor Trent’s thread!

:joy:

Even in an abysmal season, he has notched up two goals and nine assists, so far

How this myth that Trent is somehow a defensive liability not only exists but seems to be believed by the England coaching team is ridiculous.

Alternatively, one does not have to think he is a liability to think other options are simply better defensively. And that subjective assessment is unlikely to show up on such trivial statistical comparisons.

Again, so I don’t get strawmanned again, Trent would be in my England side 100 times out of 100 if fit (and a real game) as you simply don’t leave a guy who is the best in the world in his position to accommodate weaknesses elsewhere. But other people will have different opinions.

He’s in the mix for England so therefore at risk of being blamed for England being wank and flopping at another tournament.
