Reminded me of Stevie’s 100th goal for Liverpool against PSV, although that was a free-kick. But also in front of the Kop, similar position, similar power and flight.
There was one from Stevie against newcastle that was very similar. Not just the same area of the pitch, but that complete absence of movement on the ball and beautiful noise on contact.
I immediately remembered that one. I don’t see those rising, straight shots anymore, especially from Liverpool players (I can’t remember anyone scoring from outside of the box other than Alexander-Arnold, too).
My immediate thought whenever I see that goal is what the f*ck is Given doing there (not saying he would’ve saved it), almost ended up in the wall, like Dudek against Pirlo in Istanbul.
There’s this guy called Thiago…
Must be the Thiago that Trent and all the other players have started to imitate from the training pitch :0)
Great to see you!
I enjoyed his tackle on Fraser as much as his goal. I couldn’t believe afterwards that there was a serious debate about whether it might have been a foul. Perfectly executed tackle. His defending is criminally under-rated.
I thought for sure he was going to give away a penalty, was thrilled when he timed it to perfection.
The ref’s run is completely underrated, brilliant. Anyone know why he ran that way? Maybe he was concerned that the shot was going to go to the right?
Has been for quite some time. We set up extremely offensively but even though we regularly come up against some of the best forwards in the game we rarely get exposed down the flanks. It’s a well oiled machine and Trent and Andy are a part of that even if sometimes the tasks they are carrying out aren’t the ones expected of more traditional full backs.
They’d still be cleaning all the jizz out of all the studios if that had been Wan-Bissaka.
Ref made a nice decoy run.
Neco’s reaction
They don’t need him anyway, seeing that AWB is better.
