Trent ALEXANDER-ARNOLD: 2023/24

Something tells me TAA is off to Real Madrid on a free next summer or for a fee this summer.

Real Madrid needs a new RB as Cavaraj is not getting any younger. Check.
TAA is in the last year of his contract. Check.
TAA is one of the best in his position. Check.
TAA has won everything with Liverpool. Check.
TAA and Bellingham are good mates. Check.

Just hope I am wrong, and if not, we do not get shortchanged.

If it is to be this summer, then any deal must include any 3 of Camavinga, Bellingham, Vinny Jnr and Rodrygo going in the opposite direction.

Anything else and Madrid can fucking do one.

Presumably we have been negotiating, or trying to negotiate, a new deal. If that doesnā€™t bear fruit quickly, Iā€™d like to see us switch gears and get the best deal possible for a sale this summer, as losing him on a free next summer will be remiss.

Still, if thatā€™s what he wants to do, he holds the cards.

Hopefully something can be worked out and he signs a new deal with us, as he is a smashing player. But we are at a crossroads as one chapter has just ended. Trent might see it as a sign to spread his wings.

None of that is happening.

I read that Edwards has sort of put MO on notice (timewise), to respond to new contract detailsā€¦ Should imagine Edwards will do the same with Trent.
Edwards has not been brought back to lose money for FSG; more the exact opposite; Iā€™m sure he will nail stuff down that works in favour of LFC, no matter who the players concerned are

Trent got caught on camera after the game telling mates ā€œhe didnt want to take oneā€ in a mocking sort of way. Not sure who, but presumably it was either Rice (likely) or Foden.

Foden for sure.

Less than one year contract leftā€¦

Tick tock tick tockā€¦

Given our failure to qualify for CL then Klopp announcing midway through last season that he would be leaving has probably put a hold on a number of contracts and there will be uncertainty about which of the playing staff will still be here this September Iā€™m not surprised we are in this situation.

Factor in the Eurosā€™ this summer, new sports director, a new manager (coach) who is yet to meet with him to discuss his role here and Iā€™m struggling to see when people think a new deal would have been agreed.

I expect he will sign a new contract and stay. But its worth noting that if there is genuine Real Madrid interest in the player and he in them, our options on selling may be very limited anyway,

I donā€™t see him being a success in Real. Neither do i see that for Bellingham. With Mbappe arriving , heā€™ll find that he doesnā€™t have a proper role.

Pity these oft-fantasised swap deals never happen. Iā€™d take Camavinga and Tchouameni for Trent.

TAA will return for the pre-season fresher than 90% of the other English players that played at the Euros with only 134 minutes under the belt for the Euros. Thatā€™s quite a bit of rest back ( as Englandā€™s training is probably not like Kloppā€™s training) then and more rest for him now.

I think with so little minutes, he could probably take a fortnight of holiday and come back fresher than ever.

But there are so many Instagrammable places he has to visit.
