UEFA Champions League (Part 1)

Yeah that explains it better, then again we can only meet Inter or Arsenal at the earliest in the semi finals.

The number of people frothing online at the fact there is a draw on Friday and then again on 21 Feb is nuts.

Who gives a shit?!?!?!

We’re the top scorers in PL. Have scored less in CL but that’s partly due to good defensive performances and conserving energy

Seeing heaps of ‘Big teams will learn to rotate squads, doesn’t matter where you finish.’

Not sure about anyone else, but I’m thinking the fact we can’t play the other in-form teams of the comp until the penultimate/ultimate rounds is a decent carrot…

We can’t meet RM, Bayern, City or Arsenal until the semis, or Barca until the final. Definitely worth finishing first!

To be the best, you’ve got to beat the best. Absolutely no reason why we can’t see off Madrid or Munich. Khusanov will be settled, Marmoush will be scoring, we’ll give them a hell of a game, and they should be just as worried about playing us.

So Man City’s run of fixtures will be Madrid, Newcastle, Madrid, Liverpool, Spurs. Ouch.

Champions of Scotland vs champions of Germany! You never know what can happen…

They play us a few days after playing City. Just like we did, and it was easy!

Bottom half of the draw looks slightly easier at this stage. Obviously have to wait to see where top 8 get placed. Shame they didn’t just draw it all at once, imo.

We find out our fate on 21 February.

Yep. I think we’d prefer to be drawn in the bottom half along with Villa (Lille look dangerous), Leverkusen (don’t want Atletico shite housing and injuring our players) and Inter (Although Arsenal wouldn’t be much tougher).

I’d rather take on Lille than VIlla. Lille look dangerous but over two legs fine.

All English ties can go either way. That said, I hope Man City knock Real Madrid out I think, and I think Slot’s already in Pep’s head.

Edit: would rather Arsenal over Inter too I think! Maybe that’s a crazy shout, but Inter low block lower than low.

FFS, what a palaver.

All things being equal, I think I would prefer to draw the bottom half of the bracket.

Slightly easier? Top half is brutal.

Sadly the Arne Slot derby looks to be a very distant pipe dream unless both us and Feyenoord make it all the way to the semis/finals…

I’m glad Man City and Real Madrid have got each other. With neither side showing their best form so far, though Real Madrid have picked up a bit, this is the real consequence. Notwithstanding Man City having a dodgy spell in the Prem, this tie could easily be a semi final or final, so it’s good for us that one of them will be going out. It’s also good for us to play Man City in the league while they are in a tough run of fixtures.

It’s a joke that they couldn’t do the whole draw now, and we get it in installments.

I fear no-one, but clearly one side of the draw looks easier than the other.
