UEFA Champions League (Part 1)

Forget about opposing supporters, some of what gets said about our own players is over the top.

The fact is that there are obnoxious people all over the internet and that is reflected in football fan forums. I don’t buy the idea that fans of a particular PL club are more or less likely to be decent people, it doesn’t make sense. We have been successful for the last few years, which makes us more of a target for insults from rivals and, conversely, less likely to be insulting to others. Winners don’t need to spread bile about their opponents as much.
In the lower leagues, there may be more marked differences, between, for example, a club like Millwall, based in a rough part of London, and Torquay, based in a genteel seaside town, but fans of PL teams aren’t concentrated in small geographical areas, and are thus less homogeneous.
We can’t control what’s written by opposing fans on their forums, but we can try to keep our comments fair and humane. I don’t like dehumanising language about other people, regardless of which football team they support, religion they follow or food they eat. We all know what that direction leads to.

This is bothering me a bit…

There is a difference in one or two forum members expressing their viewpoint on their experiences. Particularly negative experiences at the hands of supporters of other clubs.
To me, that is acceptable. Its a personal view that you can agree or disagree with.

Its is quite different to an Arsenal fans forum running a poll on who you hate most
Scum (Spurs) vs Victims (Liverpool)
The Moderator, a fucking vile individual asks to keep the comments in that thread. The thread is lenghty, with much more disturbing comments than you will ever see here.

Your distaste at a Liverpool supporter expressing their honest personal experience versus a forum promoting the hatred of Liverpool and their supporters?

Watching the PSG/Arse game, couldn’t help but wonder what might have been for LFC in the CL this season.

I think, with hindsight that Slot and his crew overestimated the value of the first phase and did not pace themselves appropriately..

I think there’ll be course correction next season, and with a good summer txfer window, should be in it…

The key thing for me is whether he is satisfied with the MF as is. And I’m not simply talking personnel, but especially the game model…

Its clear to me that we can play better in tight spaces…Whether that is a personnel or schematic thing is unclear to me…

Oh wow Thuram!!!

Come on Inter!!

Disagree…I think we rested players during game 8.

Then the very unlucky draw. We would have won way through to this Inter game if not the unlucky draw v PSG. And they pipped us on pens.

I’m talking about the value finishing in the top 8

What a thrilling first half, 3 goals already.

This Yamal kid is a bit good eh?

And Barca ties it!!!

Turn on the game and find Ray Hudson commentating. He proceeds to describe the first goal like a fucking moron only to say about the goal ā€œthere is simply no other way to describe itā€. Ray, if you said it, there is most definitely another way to describe it.

Yamal just left Mrky in acid. Apparently. WTF that means

I don’t think it’d be too pretty to see us, in our current state of exhaustion, against this Barcelona. We’d probably score a few, though.

Yamal is so full of tricks and every time he has the ball he creates havoc in the inter defence.

Didn’t know we were still using the word tricks to describe genius..

And yet why is this? I’m not saying you’re wrong but they are playing their 54th game of the season tonight. We have played 52.
Is Spain an easier league? Less intense generally? Do they have a bigger squad? A bigger core group of players their manager trusts?
