UEFA Europa League

It always has.

We’ll smash the TV numbers against the CL final.

Give us Milan. :sunglasses:

Does it matter if a club finishes first or second in the group?

Group winners skip a round. Second place finishers play the eight teams coming in from 3rd place CL group finishers. The winners from that round play the group winners.

As it stands 22 of 24 teams have made it through. The only sides left to be confirmed are from group C…which 2 of Betis, Rangers & Sparta will it be?

Good to know! Thx for that :+1:

Gee what a nice team goal by Brighton. Well done.

The English teams have done well in the europa league 3 teams topped their groups and therefore avoid the playoffs as for the CL 2 teams are completely out and two teams are in the hat for the knock out stages

Makes it slightly easier to read plus Rangers won their group so won’t have that either.

If all the Portuguese teams get through the chances of facing them you would expect are high.

At least that means no stupid “Battle of Britain” headlines… for now.

Yeah what I meant, they were garbage last season like but it’s the whole hype around it.

The draw for the playoff round is at noon on Monday (that’s UK time; don’t give a fuck about AEDT or anything else). The group runners-up will play the Champions League dropouts.

Knockout round play-offs (group runners-up):

Freiburg (GER)
Marseille (FRA)
Qarabağ (AZE)
Rennes (FRA)
Roma (ITA)
Sparta Praha (CZE)
Sporting CP (POR)
Toulouse (FRA)

Knockout round play-offs (transferring from Champions League):

Benfica (POR)
Braga (POR)
Feyenoord (NED)
Galatasaray (TUR)
Lens (FRA)
Milan (ITA)
Shakhtar (UKR)
Young Boys (SUI)

The winners of these ties will progress to face the eight group winners in the last sixteen.

Can you do that for the Conference League too please.

Europa Conference league is a similar setup to the Europa league:

PAOK
Viktoria Plzen

Seeded in play-offs:
Bodo/Glimt
Dinamo Zagreb
Eintracht Frankfurt
Ferencvaros
Gent
Legia Warsaw
Ludogorets
Slovan Bratislava.

Unseeded in play-offs:
Ajax
Maccabi Haifa
Molde
Olympiacos
Real Betis
Servette
Sturm Graz
Union Saint-Gilloise

Favourites on paper in European cup competitions doesn’t mean much, but we’ll be clear favourites in the second part of the season, especially if we keep going like we are + even improve.

Really, we should be getting to the final here with the teams left. Just like in the League Cup.

If we give it enough respect/consideration and play close to our first team then we go all the way without too much trouble.

If we make too many changes like we did throughout the group, we’ll become unstuck and get dumped out. Pretty much that simple, our away form is simply not good enough to win anything if we’re not playing 8 or 9 of our regulars.

Now you bloody tell me…

Read the comments as the clip tells you nothing.

Also, what a win for Rangers last night. Betis were undefeated at home. They go there, win 2-3, win the group, Betis dropping to Konferenz.
