Geezuz…this Tory for Kensington is hardly inspiring my confidence about the Grenfell Inquiry.

What are you watching?

The stuff that Grenfell’s exposed is disgraceful.

Reassuring that according to the mail online, as a no deal looks likely and panic buying expected at supermarkets, boris is taking personal control.

I made the mistake of clicking on in there and was pleasantly surprised to find that in the true spirit of british tabloidism, they’ve got a handy ‘top 10 list’ of ways to stick it to brussels in a no deal. Includes, ‘buy a second home’ and ‘buy a 1.6kW hoover’.

Right, i’m off to the estate agent first, then round the hoover repair shop to get my 900w hoover refitted with a 1600w lump.

Politics on BBC.

They gave the entire story very short shrift, unfortunately.

And yep…mind-blowingly disgraceful.

Apparently all will be revealed at 11:30a.m. GMT.

What’s the betting they agree to continue talking, as neither side wants to be the first to walk away.

As predicted, they’ve agreed to continue the talks!

All right @Klopptimist, as you predicted, yet another deadline missed, another deadline yet to be set…

Personally i dont wholly agree with everything being said here.

Remember the UK have gone in wanting all the benefits of the common market without making any concessions to be part of that. As far as I can see the EU only wants to keep their fishing industry active considering they use that produce more than we do. Plus they dont want the UK under cutting EU companies.

The UK’s stance is fine as a starting position but doesn’t look great with less than 20 days to go.

More than a pittle worrying that the UK’s immediate future lies in the hand of Boris Johnson.

When I break it down to thay basic level it doesn’t look great.

Woooshh

What the heck is the logic of a larger vacuum cleaner vis-a-vis Brexit?

Probably the same logic that prompted Chad from Alabama to call up and argue for the right to buy whatever light bulb he wants!!!

Ps. Chad also ends up proposing that states should be allowed to decide whether or not to legalise slavery.

1.6kW is the threshold for vacuum cleaner power due to EU energy laws I would assume. Though weren’t they modified to be lower?

The EU limited the power of vacuum cleaners in a drive to make them more energy efficient. This wasn’t universally welcomed because the first generations performed worse than the more powerful older models (obviously) until the efficiencies the regulation was designed to encourage came about.

Subsequently I think the power restriction has been loosened anyway.

European regulations aspirateurs couldn’t be over a certain wattage, so the manufacturers started using more efficient motors. The UK was dissappointed they no longer made enough noise or something.
Tbh I was a bit peeved over kettles took well over a minute longer to boil (at least when your watching it boil) however I have got the hang of it now.
