Is Sadiq Khan the worst ever Mayor of London? Pay attention there may be a test later.

Probably not - Sir Nicolas Brembre (d1388) - good mate of of Richard II, is definitely a contender for the title - He ran London like a mafia Don - murder, torture, corruption, electoral fraud, blackmail and intimidation was his modus operandi. He made Tony Soprano look like a choirboy.

Eventually he went a step too far and was accused of treason - he fled to Wales but was captured and imprisoned in Gloucester .then moved to the Tower. Found guilty of Treason he requested trial by combat which was his right as a Knight - but this was refused and they hanged him instead.

Cor Blimey guvnor what a complete Berk (Berkshire Hunt) Brembre was.

Sadly, the choice in politics is led by which of Labour or Conservative do you least want to win, and you go from there.

Is the Mayoral Election still an Alternative vote system. I am sure when I lived in London you ranked you candidates in order.

Exports to the EU dropped by 40% in January and the economy shrank by 2.9%. Imports shrank by 28.8%.
Economy 9% smaller than it was pre-pandemic.

horrendously biased garbage.

the thing is, i probably lean centre right, maybe centre left the older i get…every so often they stumble on a point i kinda maybe kinda can see a reason to agree with…

but oyu cant…you just cant let Bolt, Jones or Murray enter your psyche… thin end of the wedge type stuff…

Paul Murray is pretty close to an actual parody…wickedly clever comedy/tremendously bias cliche shite…i dont actually know…its that bad…its so bad even @Klopptomist would blush…

Can anyone remind me what was the prediction in the drop in economy? 9% feels larger than what was predicted from memory.

I saw this which puts a different angle on it. Never watched the show, so not that bothered except by the idea of an ā€˜anti-woke unit’

It’s more likely to be because it’s rubbish tbh

Weirdly though it’s one of the few comedy shows that has a right of centre comedian (Geoff Norcott) as a regular. Unless it’s being axed so as to give him his own show, I don’t see this as being motivated out of any bias towards patriotic conservatism.

Haven’t checked the viewing figures but the impression I get from people talking about imply it’s quite popular. The suggestion it is about the ability to monetize makes a lot of sense - particularly if the government are looking at cutting funding.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson said: ā€œFreedom of speech and a free press are at the very core of our democracy, and journalists must be able to go about their work without being threatened.

ā€œThe cowardly attacks and abuse directed at reporters for simply doing their job cannot continue.

ā€œThis action plan is just the start of our work to protect those keeping the public informed, and defend those holding the government to account.ā€

One day ( and this isn’t unique to Labour by any means) somebody will actually say ā€œYes, I stand by that comment, he/she is a @@@@ā€

Hope you kept it and the picture. He’ll be leading the party soon.

Oh come on. You can’t leave it at that. What was the award for?
