Asylum seekers really need good brows and lashes too

The Home Office. Constantly raising eyebrows.

The issue for many is that despite living in Spain they still claim the UK as their residence for taxes. After 6 months of living in Spain they should be paying taxes to the Spanish but you’d be hard pushed to find people who actually do that.

The ones who did things properly should have no problem proving they lived in Spain for 5 years - most will struggle to without proving they should have been paying tax in Spain. They also need to get a Spanish driving license and register their cars in Spain (a lot of people drive across in their British cars) which people are reluctant to do for whatever reason.

The story just gets better if what you’re saying is true.

ā€œI want to live in Spain but not contribute or integrate into Spanish life / communities. I’m voting to leave the EU and that means nothing will change for meā€

Zero sympathy from me as I see exactly the same thing here in Wales.

I guess a number of them are wondering why they can’t get their permanent residency status simply by walking into Spanish government buildings and shouting really loudly in English.

The bacon and eggs just isn’t the same.

And let’s not mention the skinny chips

There is government in Spain?

Yes, their rationale is ā€œThe Spanish need us more than we need themā€. Basically they think they don’t have to pay taxes because they use restaurants and shops etc which supports local business and without them the area would collapse economically.

I’m not saying there isn’t any truth to what they claim (although I haven’t seen any statistics) but I doubt they would say a Spaniard moving to the UK should not pay taxes.

On a personal level I was always struck by how racist these communities were. The Facebook group of the campus was always full of posts like ā€œjust saw two young men walking past my house. Possibly Moroccan so lock your doors if you go outā€ that kind of stuff. I also have no sympathy.

Unfortunately this type of people have been around everywhere, in Asia where I used to travel for work extensively, my customers have always told me that they observed a good number of people from certain countries are more prone to act as if the country would not survive without them spending their monies here.

Pint of Carling with that?

There will be tomorrow…

This point exactly. They feel they can go anywhere, set up residence and call it little England.

I get embarrassed going for a week holiday and not being able to speak the language, even at a 6 year old level or worse. This lot feel they have no need to or no moral responsibility to do so.

I wonder why they aren’t buying from the likes of Volvo or Liebherr.

I mean, JCB isn’t exactly tinpot :joy:

No, far from it but I wonder how much choice they had? Great news for JCB obviously but the reality is that when normally hire diggers and the like they normally aren’t JCB.

To me its sounds as like they’ve shifted supplier. Again that’s great for JCB but I’d like to see more detail on it with a comparison to previous years etc.

Has to be TRUE don’t it??

Funnily enough, of the many expenses listed that was by far the most believable!

Some replies in that thread are golden.

Seriously it’s a pathetic attempt to be honest. Like when I blame the dog for eating all the biscuits, which are kept in the top of a cupboard in a tin that takes two hands to open. Apparently the dog is so good it puts the lid back on and puts the tin back.
