It’s traditionally been a death sentence for any MP to be caught having an affair. On this case it was made worse by the fact he was flaunting corona guidelines he had written (or at least overseen as the Health Minister) to have an affair with a woman he just so happened to have given role as an Non Executive Director to when she was totally unqualified and whose brother just so happens to have won several lucrative government contracts. It wasn’t so long ago he was calling for a police investigation of Neil Ferguson for having an affair during Covid.
This is the same MP that gave PPE contracts to his local pub landlord.
He’s a corrupt hypocrite through and through. Utterly unfit for Government.
Although there is an element of being “set up” here, that is not the main point and the more I see people comment “Who released this info that’s the more important question?” On every Twitter thread leads me to suspect yet more social media manipulation to try and divert attention towards an unseen and unaccountable bogeyman.
Shocked he has resigned really, this government has proven time and time again that actions don’t matter at all. The PM himself has done this exact thing and worse. They’ll still win a majority at the next election.
Who would have expected that the Conservatives are now spending all their energy on working out who leaked the security footage and reviewing the security camera setup rather than finding out whether Hancock’s hiring of an aide who he potentially was in a relationship with was whole worlds of dodge?
Fucking Conservatives. I guess until the public wake the fuck up and hold them to account they will never change. Why would they?
They already know the source of the leak…its all a bit to a convenience. They’re just pulling more wool over eyes. We know the dodgy contracts went through the formal processes. No reason for the Government to look into this because they’d just be outing their rich pals.
George Galloway is fucking poison. Always has been. Always will be. I lived in Tower Hamlets, when his Respect party took the seat off Labour in the aftermath of the Iraq War. It was exactly the same as this - intimidation, violence, dirty campaigning. Of course, nothing to do with Galloway. Nothing at all.
the information, debate, factual correctness and additude to each and all of us has been amazing, everyone has pitched in and theres no doubt the mix of clever humour and serious debate has been astounding…theres been no conduit for stupidity or low teir analysis and the place has absolutely prospered…Klopptomist even shared a story about when he was handing out food to the needy…
you add that to our TAN mega Lotto win (ohhh those spondollies came in handy bigtime) and the free wine and cheese appreciation day the guys put on for us, and no wonder we’ve all agreed to give it a rest effortwise for a bit…
congrats on the Bubba mate…hope all is healthy and well and happy…
Galloway had said he will apply to have the result set aside by the courts, sounding exactly like another egomaniacal, fascist fucknut on the other side of the Atlantic.
PMQ’s back and forth trying to outdo eachother with their praise for the England team and their outrage for online racism has me reminded of the Dead Ringers comedy sketch in series 1 with a back and forth between Charles Kennedy and Iain Duncan Smith:
Charles Kennedy: “Well, I am absolutely appalled by this terrible thing.”
Iain Duncan Smith: “Well, I am totally devastated and appalled.”
Charles Kennedy: “Well, I am not only devastated and appalled. I am outraged and shocked.”
Iain Duncan Smith: “I am infinitely moved and appalled and shocked recurring with no returns.”
I don’t know what he can do. He needs to stop treating parliament and PMQ’s like a courtroom and understand that it’s a circus. He’s basically got a PM in front of him who’s favourite karaoke track is “Vaccine rollout” and he still cant make him look stupid.
Only this week, a week where a number of high profile people have called out senior government officials as the racists they are does their figure in the polls rise by 3 points. That’s how f***** up the UK is.
