UK Politics Thread (Part 1)

This government = whack-a-mole with negative media reports. The key issues, like the slow collapse of small business and the agricultural industry don’t even register with them, but the second there is a symbolic issue like “No turkeys for Christmas!!”? Instant action.

Worst. Government. Ever.

And if you live in the EU nobody ever wants to travel outside of it…sounds about right.

"The costs of a journey to the UK to explode, and have a considerable influence on our decision to travel to the UK. It will force us to choose alternative English-speaking destinations.”

This “Passport thing” will definitely be a deterrent and an obstacle for many.

Unplucked of course.

Everyone could just have pork for Christmas, of course pork that has been waiting for a lorry for 3 months still better than nothing.

Or maybe just have a vegetarian Christmas meal? Not going to kill anyone.

Easier just to go to europe for christmas unless you haven’t a passport.
Learning new fangled cooking is far too difficult unless it’s just chip butties.

I thought it was all about cars. :anguished:

Brexit really is the gift that keeps on giving.

I had a right wing thought

Maybe that awful socialist organisation that is BP started the fuel panic because they wanted the extra profit? It’s all BP’s fault.

No I’m off to strip naked and whip myself with a hazel twig until all such thoughts are vanquished from my soul

Apart from killing appetites

Those issues are covered as new year resolutions.

Its like the UK has gone back to the 1970s.

Food shortages, oil crisis, Leeds players breaking opponents legs.

Who would bet against a 3 day week

I do not think that is unintentional.

They are trying to re-assert the power of the “ruling” classes.

This is why you see absolutely no regard for the working person. They do not care if the “lower classes” struggle economically, physically or mentally.

It is as clear as day.

But these are self-inflicted wounds. This system of government is still supported and every 4 years or so the charade is re-enacted. If you took part in it then you cannot legitimately complain.

There are alternative systems that would safeguard against this deceit, incompetence, and megalomania. Can anyone honestly say that we have, in government, a proper representation of the people?

Seems like someone needs to learn about human biology.

Whilst I agree with his point regards Trans Rights and discussions need to be mature and respectful, you cannot ignore human biology, and the cervix is a female organ, so saying that only women have it is correct.

What about some trans men?

They identify as men, and they have that right, but from a biological and scientific point of view, they were born female if they have a cervix.

So therefore not only women can have a cervix?

But the point is, define ‘woman’ in the 21st century. This comes back to a debate had on TIA. Trans males might identify as a woman. ‘Woman’ and ‘Man’ aren’t defined by their reproductive organs.

I think I argued the point back then that man/woman and male/female are not the same thing IMO. I define male/female by anatomy, and man/woman by how they identify. If a trans male asked to be called female, would I go against logic just to please them? Maybe. Not sure until put in that situation.

The cervix or cervix uteri (Latin, ‘neck of the uterus’) is the lower part of the uterus in the human female reproductive system.

From a biology and science view, I think that is pretty clear.
