UK Politics Thread (Part 1)

I think the release of these sorts of reports may be timed to coincide with Parliamentary recess dates, which is until the end of this week. If there is any other timing involved, it will be at the decision of the committee involved in the investigation.

Good riddance. I hope it is made permanent…

He is getting slaughtered on Radio 4 at the moment by Angela Rayner. Making sure she distances herself from Corbyn. Won’t be the first in the next 24 hours I would imagine.

Maybe we should stop giving MPs whips in the first place. Talk about mixed messages.

“Oh. Huh. So you give me this and you expect me not to use it on the intern that’s half my age? Oh come onnnn! You stop funding my duckhouse and now this! I didn’t get into politics only to be treated like hoi fucking polloi”

This is purely my thoughts, but I feel this report is either motivated by certain interests or there’s loads of nastiness inside Labor. I mean you can’t have hatred for a certain race/religion/gender while being accommodating towards others.

Sure you can. Someone can be bigoted in some respects but not others.

Sort of looks like open warfare on Momentum. Good time for it, I suppose, next general election years away, just that pesky pandemic thing to worry about.

I dont think anyone has to go combing on social media, its easy enough to come across stuff through one’s feed.

The report highlighted reforms the party had agreed to make from 2 or 3 earlier reports in 2016 (including Chakribati’s who cannot be said to be a Tory front) but had failed to do so.
