UK Politics Thread (Part 1)

Well that’s a black mark against Corbyn straight off. Ignoring those recommendations.

I thought all religions were oppressive

Do you have to ask that about anyone using the name Diouf on a Liverpool fan site?

yes i’m too ‘blinkered’ to understand that jeremy corbyn is a raging bigot, while boris johnson is a committed anti-racist

once again starmer bails the tories out in the news cycle, but again, nothing to see here

he said to the tory lol

It’s probably worse than that. Chakrabati’s report was appalling for its lack of independence. It watered down many of the evidence provided to it and may have contributed towards the Labour leadership thinking that whilst there may have been some issues, they weren’t “that bad”. It was an exercise in window-dressing, done solely to say that the party had examined the issue. The recommendations were similarly pathetic interventions that had the appearance of wanting to show some sort of tangible adjustment had come out of it. Awful, awful report that, to my mind, had the very opposite effect of the outcome it was purported to achieve.

I can’t keep up with the names he uses but it’s a fair point!

the EHRC says using the phrase ‘israel lobby’ is anti-semitic

gee almost as if this was about corbyn recognizing the humanity of palestinians all along

If Corbyn had drafted his statement better, or simply not made one at all, this wouldn’t have taken over the media the way it has.

I would also point out that some of Corbyn’s supporters spent the earlier part of the week attacking Starmer for driving an SUV rather than Johnson’s government

driving an SUV into a cyclist

Are you intentionally trying to prove my point? If so, don’t let me stop you, you seem to be building up some momentum.

But the comments were highlighting SUV ownership, not so much the accident itself. In such circumstances it shouldn’t matter what car he drives.

Did he? What a cunt. You’re right, that is definitely much worse than antisemitism or fucking up the national response to a public health crisis that simultaneously exposes the already vulnerable of society to greater harm, whilst your mates profit off the shambles you’ve helped create.

what anti-semitism, you smug fuck?

I have a feeling this won’t end well :flushed:

pretty rich to see the keith fanboys crying about the left not being team players after the labour right openly rooted for the tories to win so they could get rid of corbyn

At least you can half understand the stuff he says. If find the almost bullet point like commenting style which appears from nowhere incredibly difficult to follow.

You know, the one with Jews and the Labour party and the discrimination. There’s been a report published about it, I’ll see if I can find a link.
