Noooo…
The understatement of the year.
No-one is crying about Corbyn’s support not backing the leader - just highlighting your claims that it’s Starmer bailing out the Tories is obviously false.
so you don’t have an example
none of you weasels ever do
Seriously? I was taking the piss given that it’s been the main topic of conversation in this thread today but here you go…

I’m fucking fuming today, about lots things, including the report and the suspension of Corbyn. But I’m not having you addressing other members of this forum as you are.
If you want to take part in this forum, keep it civil and don’t resort to personal attacks. It’s a lot nicer that way, and to be honest the last thing I can be arsed with tonight is working out how to boot someone on the new software.
here’s an example of an anti-semitic statement:
you can’t find one from corbyn, but you can no doubt go on being a smug twat
Where do I claim Corbyn has said something antisemitic?
In other news, it turns out banning someone is actually really easy!
Two weeks off for this lad.
By the way, this is what I think about the ECHR report.
-
Just make it go away. Labour have to bury the anti-semitism stories by whatever means necessary. To what extent the Labour Party has actually been guilty of anti-semitism is functionally irrelevant.
-
I really disagree with the suspension of Corbyn. Not only is Corbyn absolutely not an anti-Semite, but jettisoning him from the party will hasten the left splitting from the Labour Party, splitting the vote and condemning the country to perpetual Tory role.
-
I’m personally troubled that the shape the debate has gone in, underscored by the ECHR report, suggests that we have drifted to a place where criticism of Israel is now considered to be Anti-Semitic. This is an absurd situation to find ourselves in.

I look forward to the Conservative Party being investigated for its casual racism and islamaphobia.
It is a tricky line to walk, but I would suggest a party that had mass chanting of ‘from the river to the sea’ at its own conference should probably take on softer challenges to start with. Frankly, with the Netanyahu government it has been comparatively easy for the past few years, and UK Labour has still made a horrendous hash of it.
As for suspending Corbyn, I am not sure that was any wiser than his own comments this morning, and with far more knock-on effects. Former leaders sitting in caucus always raise awkward questions.
I thought the report is clear that it is the context in which Israel is being criticised.
No it’s not. Nandy was referencing the portrayal of Jews as being powerful and controlling.
Pretty sure I heard an interview this morning stating that they had investigated 100’s of disturbing examples.
If that’s true that’s ab equally disturbing number.
It’s also disturbing that I cant remember who was being interviewed.
RE Corbyn’s suspension I suspect that has more to do with this morning’s comments more than anything else. They were pretty much the exact opposite to those of Starmer. I don’t think there was any real choice.

The difficult thing is that for the left sympathy will naturally fall with an oppressed people, and the Palestinian people are certainly oppressed. In some cases I’m sure people’s support for Palestine has crossed a line into antisemitism, but we have to be very clear that nation states are not religions, and the right to criticise a nation states must always be protected. It really feels like, in the case of Israel a very good job has been done of making criticism of the Jewish state and criticism of Jewish People interchangeable.
That said, it’s probably best if Labour just stay away from the Israel issue for a few years.
Corbyn definitely doesn’t get a free pass from me for not doing the obvious and sensible thing and just keeping his fucking mouth shut.
You should see the email I just got from the Conservative party. Shall I share it? It’s very twattish.
Ooh. Please do.
This is rather disturbing. Kinda out of Stasi playbook.
Kopstar,
Just last year, Sir Keir Starmer said he was behind Jeremy Corbyn 100%.
So how can he claim to take antisemitism seriously?
Kopstar, Keir Starmer is a lawyer. And as a lawyer, he follows whatever brief he’s given.
Last year, his brief was to make Jeremy Corbyn Prime Minister. So he defended Jeremy Corbyn every chance he got.

Now his brief is to save the Labour Party from accusations of antisemitism. So he’s claiming that he’ll lead the fight against anti-Jewish racism in Labour.
The problem with his claims is that they’re just not true.
The first party ever to be investigated for institutional racism was the BNP. The second was Labour.
And it is shocking that the Labour was found to have broken equalities law on three counts.
So it’s not enough to apologise.
It’s easy to take a position on antisemitism in hindsight, but seemingly much harder for Keir Starmer to have the moral character and backbone to do what is right at the time.
For someone aspiring to be Prime Minister of this country, it shouldn’t take a report from the Equality and Human Right’s Commission to tell them what the right thing is to do is.
The truth is Keir Starmer was side-by-side with Jeremy Corbyn when it suited him .
Don’t let Keir Starmer hide the truth. Share this video with a friend — and hold Starmer to account for his failure to tackle racism.
