John Smith was the one Labour leader that I could have voted for. Seemed to be a thoroughly top bloke. Aunt X (mp) said so too.
Boris wonāt approve any action anyway
I suppose I mean the extent to which they are being pursued as realisable objectives is symptomatic of far left liberalism.
I think youāre talking about a certain subset of āliberalā positions, some of which I personally might agree with to an extent, some of which I donāt.
Overall I think these social buzzword discussions often work as distractions from the real socio-economic questions. Like how an increasingly smaller circle of global monopolists are fucking us all over. I guess thatās considered a far left way of putting it.
Someone please lock this thread until the guys cool down.
Except he was hounded by the press, demonised on the basis of it and it cost him the premiership. Apart from that though.
Iād also suggest it was 12 years ago, and a decent enough spell of time that our attitude to work place relations have come on a bit.
In my opinion itās never acceptable to lose your temper at an employee. You also lose the high ground instantly.
Yes thats it, because I was force fed it at Uni, but then we were always warned of the danger of the left sliding too far, I think it has and continues to do so, but at its heart the notional problem arises, if you take inclusivity to its ends, that you cannot even defend being a liberal as it may put some one out.
Just caught up on the last few posts. For fucks sake lads. Put the thread down and slowly walk away.
Priti Patel is not worth anyone kopping a ban over.
Iām not the one throwing āgobshiteā at other members.
Lmao just did that and watched John Smith against major (barnestormers suggestion) fucking brilliant
He was an excellent politician. A sad day when he passed
I can guarantee you that if Priti Patel was Klopp Klopp would not be our manager. Never the less during matches Klopp appears to shout a lot. My conclusion is he is venting his frustrations.
My view on shouting doesnāt change because of the person, if they need to vent their frustations let them but donāt involve me. Other than venting frustration shouting serves little purpose (outside communicating over vast expanses of wilderness (often shouted TO (not at them) my kids when out as they tended to wander off)). In a closed space shouting really is horrible though itās not the shouting that counts itās whatās said to whom and why.
I shout at my tele, very futile, like with Klopp it releases my frustrations that Firmino, ManĆ© and Salah arenāt putting their chances away (thereās also that idiot in black that gets some very nasty words directed at him).
Work place or familly it must be horrible to share space with someone who shouts abuse at you for the smallest of misdemeaners.
What does amaze me is that we are even having a debate about shouting. As implied before surely what is important is what was being shouted, no?
He started it sir?
Jesus.
Iām telling everyone to cool off a bit. Youāve given out your share.
John Smith Labour Politician.
Uniting Rabid Right-wingers and Leftwing Lunatics on Tan.
Damn he really was good.
I havenāt mentionned Gini.
Thatās nothing, you should see the global politics thread!
I donāt know a lot about these sort of left wing academic exercises. Not particularly interested either tbh, not my crowd. Iām sure some of it is bullshit or just counter-productive.
However, on the other hand, I also see right wing demagogues/media as well as Sheiks, Mullahs and others using religion, race, etc as a way of getting normal people to hate each other while cementing their own power.
Which is why I try and remain a centrist.
