The Chinese seem to have very low infection rates and have been using it for a while apparently.
As long as it works well doubt whether many would be too concerned about it.
Although given Trump is claiming the others as “Trump Vaccine”,I’d be worried about that, but of course it is more BS from a soon to be ex President.
Now isn’t that nice
Less car production means more costly cars and that in turn means less car sales. Less cars, less emissions. Johnson/Tory are doing what climate activists couldn’t.
Pernille Rudlin is a recommended follow for anyone interested in Japanese businesses in the UK.
To be fair that may also be a reflection of the fact that global camera sales have been falling across the board for a good few years now combined with the fact that Nikon’s market share has also been falling. They are no longer in the top 2 with regard to camera sales.
That’s possible but it’s a regular story amongst Japanese firms if you follow her tweets, secondly she isn’t someone who is looking to blame everything on Brexit. If she thinks it is a reaction to the industry at large she will usually say so.
It’s worth remembering the UK was promoted as a gateway for Japanese firms into Europe. That is becoming much harder for us to offer now because of Brexit, so we will be more vulnerable to any shake up by a Japanese company.
@Lowton_Red We could be in for 20p here
I’ve certainly no doubt that Brexit will impact stuff like this. In some way or another it is likely to impact pretty much everything.
Nikon as a company are in a bit of a messy situation to be honest. They’re part of the Mitsubishi group I think so there’s plenty of backing but as far as camera products go they are behind the curve and playing catch up, or at least they are perceived to be. Their competitors have managed to make a camera review reliant on one small aspect and not the whole package.
The thing with camera companies is that the sub £500 market has pretty much disappeared. I’ve several very good digi slr cameras for different specific tasks. The really good one is for taking a very specific type of video (stop sniggering). In almost all cases, a mobile phone (granted a high end one) will generate footage almost as good and is MUCH easier to use for 98% of people. The big camera companies have lost a huge number of sales as people just don’t buy £250 good holiday cameras any more.
My mates misses was laid of by Konica before last Christmas for falling sales.
Yep, we now have full tilt 4k movie production studios in our pockets. But when you turn up with a big camera and posh tripod, the footage must be better. Surely?
Yeah infinitely but, I did have a mate in film production, and the price of those is +£20k. Sure there is a price point in between, as you describe, but the set-up doesnt pack down into a pocket. A side point, but how much trouble have them damn camera phones caused.
yep. Global sales are well down across the board for that very reason sadly.
Phones, Gopro’s etc. have all taken over that section of the market.
Oh no question top line gear is still crazy money but what my daughter can do with her iPhone is quite extraordinary.
I bought a 4k gopro clone for £30 for operating in dangerous areas. Stood up to a hell of a beating and produced amazing footage (for the price)
Unfortunately that’s the perception and while they do produce decent shots they not on the same level as a good DSLR or mirrorless. They just aren’t flexible enough, lack the level of control and there’s no way a lens that is less than 10mm in diameter can compete with one that is 10 times wider.
But the convenience has won out.
If you spent less time wasting money on cameras…that B&G!
I haven’t bought any camera stuff in months. Busy trying to sell some pictures though, to fund the B&G, and the Yamaha and the amp, and some pedals, and a pedal board, and…
Wow, so we have settled on a Revstar; good choice.
Didnt know you were a photographer, its a rabbit hole I dont want to fall down, I have enough already.
