UK Politics Thread (Part 2)

When we were kids we knew we’d have flying cars and people would be living on the moon by 2029, not still arguing about politics and facing national strikes and power cuts.

That’s capitalism kids.

I really fear for the NHS now. Even if it were privatised tomorrow, people will die needlessly in the transition. That’s happening now already.

I honestly dont know how long it takes or how you get the message through to people that this is the result of 12 years of Tory government. I’ll ignore the slippery slope we were put on by Thatcher and Blair for the moment. Here in Wales the Labour government cops the blame for the state its in despite spending over 50% of its budget on health and social care etc. There’s zero recognition of the links to wider NHS, and how that is ultimately driven by Westminster and the whole set up of the system.

Pretty sure I’ve broken a bone in my hand last week. The thought of going to A&E for 9+hrs for someone to strap it up as a patch job is just not an option. It shouldn’t be that way. I should have zero qualms about visiting A&E or a doctor for a minor ailment etc.

I have similar fears for the state of our environment, waterways and the sea. I love these areas and they are being trashed through what is ultimately profiteering.

Oh Wow! This is bewildering!
How could any Liverpool fan vote for a party who’s leader wrote for the s*n, etc.
Oh gosh, oh golly oh jeez!

Genuine question, haven’t followed of all this closely enough - isn’t she sort of doing what she said she was going to be doing and Sunak kept warning about?

Very fishy

Yes, entirely correct assessment. There was even a clip of Sunak on Have I Got News For You last night saying exactly the same thing.

For context, the reporter is someone who has written about the potential pitfalls of loose money for years, but not a Dr. Doom type.

One of the papers cocked up when City’s Mendy was accused of rape. They put a picture of Chelsea’s Mendy up, in a Chelsea shirt. Must have been mortifying for him

Birmingham is a wonderful place for a dump.
What is wrong with people these days?

Most cities have an unpleasant underbelly, so if the fella was threatened with a mugging, he won’t have a favorable view of the place.

That said, he comes across as an entitled toff, so fits the elite conservative profile. It does them no favors at all.

Hopefully right thread this time

He has been posting this for years, so the mugging excuse isnt justification. I dont even think it happened.

You never get threatened with a mugging. You either get mugged or you fight your way out of it!
